- We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Manager/ MI specialist within the Digital Solutions Group.
The Opportunity:
- This MI Specialist & Business Management role empowers you to deliver actionable analytics and management information to drive strategy and optimise business performance across Digital Solutions. You will own the design, automation, and distribution of meaningful MI, support operational efficiency, and partner with business stakeholders to drive end-to-end value delivery.
What you’ll do:
- Drive effective MI, reporting and analytics to enable strategic decision making and performance management for Digital Solutions.
- Design, automate and manage scalable dashboards/visual analytics using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView, or other BI solutions.
- Provide business management support across cost, resource, and risk tracking—delivering governance, ad hoc analysis, and control.
- Translate large and complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and management packs for stakeholders and leadership.
- Liaise with cross-functional peers to support business planning, opportunity assessment, and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
- Proactively seek and deliver process automation and efficiency improvements to strengthen value delivery and stakeholder experience.
- Ensure MI/reporting is produced in line with HSBC control and data management standards; escalate issues and manage competing deadlines.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Proven experience (3–6 years) in MI/BI/analytics, business management, or business support roles, ideally in banking/financial services or digital functions.
- Advanced knowledge of BI and analytics tools: Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView/Power BI or similar platforms.
- SQL and Python proficiency is required (minimum basic level; intermediate or advanced proficiency preferred).
- Excellent data extraction, processing, and analysis skills; ability to present insights to a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proven record supporting global teams and driving delivery across multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail, independent problem-solving, and strong time management with flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Experience in digital solutions, platform/product teams, or within regulated environments.
- Financial/accounting acumen and understanding of resource/cost management.
- Automation or programming skills (SQL, Python, VBA, etc.).
- Experience collaborating with risk, compliance, or control partners.
- Relevant professional certifications in BI, analytics, business management, or project/program management.
