In Wealth and Personal Banking , we serve 41 million customers globally, including 6.7 million who are international, from retail customers to ultra high net worth individuals and their families. Retail Banking plays a crucial role in executing the Wealth and Personal Banking strategy, providing strategic advice, frameworks and guidance to markets, that ensure all customer journeys, products and services are sustainable, inclusive and built with customers at the heart. Retail Banking brings together a united retail business, made up of the following global teams: Segments, Retail Products, Shared Services Contact Centre, Distribution and Enablers spanning Customer Experience, Marketing, Data and Analytics, Business Architecture, Sustainability and Inclusion for Wealth and Personal Banking.

Responsibilities:

One of the key emerging functions for HBMY WPB is relating to AML regulatory Risk and tax-related matters including tax reporting to ensure that risks and issues have been identified, assessed and are being managed via appropriate internal controls in line with risk appetite and any regulatory and Group Standards / Policy requirements.  The jobholder will be responsible for establishing and managing the regulatory risk and tax control environment for WPB Business Financial Crime Risk:

  • Establishing, reviewing and implementing Global business regulatory risk and tax policies and procedures to ensure that WPB's exposure to these risks is managed effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with any regulatory and Group Standards / Policy requirement.
  • To inculcate the culture of regulatory risk and tax compliance awareness and responsibilities within the WPB business / staff.
  • To protect the Bank against potential reputational damages, financial losses and/or sanctions from external regulator.
  • Teamwork – to drive a culture of change improvement and effective support of WPB Business Financial Crime Risk business regulatory risk and tax compliance framework.
  • Activities to support business regulatory risk and tax related LOBPs.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in branch operation management. 
  • Good understanding and knowledge of regulatory risk and tax compliance risks and internal control standards and best practices in management of these risk. 
  • Knowledge of the audit management and facilitation process and experience in managing audit deliverables.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to a wide range of individuals and groups and at different levels of seniority. 
  • Self-starter with attention to details combined with strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment and manage continually changing priorities effectively.
  • Project management skill will be an added advantage.
