Our Everyday Banking app is set to become a platform onto which many other HSBC Digital Teams will be able to deploy functionality. Our mobile teams are based at HSBC Digital hubs across the UK, Poland, India, Hong Kong and China.

A digital revolution is happening at HSBC and we are transforming a huge global bank into an agile delivery organisation across multiple countries, cultures and customers.  Our global digital solutions are influencing the banking behaviour of our over 41 million customers worldwide.  We are looking for Digital natives to help us revolutionise how we deliver banking services as we move from monolithic waterfall delivery to an API microservices driven architecture. Swift and kotlin are our primary development languages.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Mobile Testing Lead that can help further the success of our everyday banking apps. We are seeking individuals who see this as an opportunity to build the idealized banking experience across a vast platform. One that solves real problems for our users, adds real value and provides relevant services and insights.

The Testing Lead in the team is a passionate, inspiring technologist who leads by example, champions’ innovation and quality and knows how to deliver.

Day to day you will be working with digital products managers, architects, technical product Manager, delivery managers and designers through the product lifecycle. You will be responsible for leading the testers to build the product together with digital product managers in order to deliver highly scalable, reusable and global products.

What you’ll do:

  • Participate in a team in iWPB with responsibility for lending testing.

  • Prepare testing schedule and related testing activities while identifying and resolving all potential risks and issues.

  • Participate in project workshop to generate testing approach and perform risk assessment.

  • Communicate with the relevant stake holder regarding resolving technical issues related to delivery of projects.

  • Drive test efficiency and quality improvement activity in the project teams.

  • Create and maintain reusable automated test scripts/programs.

  • Propose testing approach in line with test strategy especially in automated testing perspective.

  • Initiate TDD (test driven development) or BDD (behavior driven development).

  • Implement robust agile practices and automation in the DevOps pipeline.

Requirements
  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of 7 years' IT software testing experiences, STRONG technical knowledge.

  • Have a good understanding of the test process and testing knowledge.

  • Effective communication skills in spoken and written English.

  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure.

  • Experience of designing automation tests using BDD/TDD (e.g. Cucumber/JBehave or similar).

  • Experience of automated testing using automation frameworks/tools (e.g. Selenium/Appium/Junit/TestNG).

  • Experience of continuous integration automation using build tools (e.g. Jenkins).

  • Experience in providing thought leadership, and driving a complex change agenda, and an ability to challenge the “status quo”.
