The Global Third Party Management Hub is being implemented in Global Operations as part of the Global TPM Transformation programme to service HSBC and ensure that all activities required to fulfil our TPM risk obligations are completed in a standardised, accurate, timely and compliant manner.

The scope of the GTPM Hub will cover Risk and Compliance for external third parties only, starting with Traditional Suppliers in 2021 and expanding to support Other Third Party types in 2022.

 

The Opportunity:  

This role will support the Cost Management Program by providing targeted analytics and insight on the underlying variables that generate costs in retail banking operations e.g. card issuance, print & post, cash provision.

The role holder will be part of a virtual team, operating across multiple locations and supporting the reporting and analytics that the management team require to drive the business forward as well as provide stakeholders with a suitable level oversight and information."

 

What you’ll do:     

  • Develop new datasets which link customer demographics to operational costs and revenues to support customer-centric business decisioning regarding cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support development of Total Cost of Ownership models which allow management to make fact-based business decisions with full visibility of the impact on customers and revenue.
  • Involve frequent liaison with a large range of stakeholders including:
  • Key leadership roles across Cost Management
  • Product owners in Retail Banking.
  • Other Analytics teams in Retail Banking and Global Operations.
  • Work collaboratively as a team of data experts to ensure that the teams objectives are met
  • Provide the leadership team with data that gives confidence in the delivery of quality and service in line with Cost Management commitments and obligations.
  • Identifies opportunities to continuously improve and optimize the capabilities of the Cost Management program by extensively reviewing and improving existing processes.
  • Review of analysis, MI and reporting. Drawing out key themes, trends or risks that could both positively or negatively affect the achievement of HSBC's organizational objectives
  • Leads and manages initiatives to embed and maintain a culture where good data management and quality practices prevail.
  • Ensure data practices comply with regulations of all locations.
  • Ensure good practices in the management of data tools, standards, frameworks and templates.
  • Track adherence to policies, frameworks and tooling associated to Data Governance and Data Quality.
  • Govern relationships between data elements across different systems.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

  • 7+ years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data and the communication of such to business and senior stakeholders is desirable.
  • Prior experience in identifying and creating a framework for continuous technical learning.
  • Prior Cost Management experience related with a financial institution or at a regulatory agency or major consulting firm is desirable.
  • A good understanding and experience of the Global Businesses and Global Functions within a Bank.
  • Prior experience of working across 1 or more Risk Domains is desirable (providing support and guidance to business functions).
  • Ability to accurately determine customer needs & offer appropriate support.
  • Experienced in preparing and interpreting Management Information (MI) reports.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet timeframes while producing quality results.
  • Project Management – ability to develop and deliver a plan to deliver project outcomes on time, with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrates up to date industry knowledge of analytics best practices, tools and trends.   

 

What additional skills will be good to have?     

  • Experience in Relational databases, SQL, Python, R, Big Query, SAS.
  • Excellent Data crunching, Insight generation, Storytelling and Presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Data visualization skills in Qliksense, Tableau, Power BI would be highly beneficial.
  • Proven experience in building dashboards for senior management.
