We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Country Head of Corporate Sales, CMB GPS.

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Set the strategic direction of Global Payments Solutions Sales efforts and coverage of Commercial Banking MME, NBFI and IvB (Corporate) customers in Hong Kong SAR and as they expand internationally, and Mainland China-based clients using Hong Kong SAR as a gateway for international expansion  
  • Drive the sales vision and strategy for Commercial Banking Corporate Sales across Hong Kong SAR and the GBA in collaboration with multi stakeholders from Coverage team and GPS functional partners 
  • Be an active member of the Hong Kong SAR GPS Management Committee and constructively support the growth of all GPS functions (Sales, Client Management, Product, Business Management, CCO teams) within the business’ risk appetite 
  • Maintain ultimate responsibility for the income and deposit level of all MME, NBFI and IvB segment within HK Commercial Banking 
  • Formulate and execute business strategies to capture new business opportunities in Hong Kong SAR and across the region through strategic account planning and effective pipeline management 
  • Lead the Commercial Banking Corporate Sales team in Hong Kong SAR to deliver client acquisition and associated business growth objectives 
  • Collaborate with the wider Sales, Implementation, Integration, Documentation and Client Service teams to ensure smooth transition of client mandates into actual revenues  
  • Align Corporate Sales structure and efforts to the evolving opportunities presented by digital-first client engagement  
  • Build a Corporate Sales team culture and behaviors which are centered on the client, adding value and positioning GPS Sales as respected subject matter experts  
  • Build and maintain deep client relationships. Act as the senior stakeholder for key clients. Champion the sales effort for the team both internally and externally, and maintain a high level of client satisfaction as a trusted advisor 
  • Partner with the Segment Heads from Coverage side in order to ensure overall alignment to the strategic objectives of the Commercial Banking in HK 
  • Provide actionable insight to GPS Product and Digital teams on the competitive market landscape and client-specific requirements, to drive product enhancement and development 
  • Advise relationship management teams on market trends, competitor landscape and regulatory changes to help respond to emerging customer needs and opportunities 
  • Create an environment where Corporate Sales team members are curious, engaged, have fun and see clear paths for purposefully developing their careers  
  • Lead, guide and direct GPS efforts to ensure a globally consistent delivery of a world class level of solutions and services to clients
     
Requirements

Requirements 

  • Solid experience in corporate treasury trends and practices, banking relationship management or corporate product sales with in-depth knowledge of local and regional cash management products, clearing services and techniques 
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to formulate and articulate client engagement and business development strategies 
  • Experience in managing multiple countries and complex deals across regions, and in leading high performance senior sales teams gained from an international banking environment 
  • Highly-motivated and achievement-driven with an established track record in new business generation and revenue growth 
  • Ability to communicate and build strong working relationships at all levels of senior and executive management both within HSBC and at senior levels in customer organizations 
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin or other language skills will be a plus 
  • Experience in change management and business transformation projects and / or a Certificate in International Cash Management would be advantageous
