WDAC (Wholesale Data, Analytics, CRM) China team as part of Global WDAC, located Guangzhou, China. We are a dynamic group of data scientists, data and business analysts, data steward to support the Wholesale Business by digging insight from data to unlock business growth opportunities, manage risk, avoid fraud, providing intelligent insights, increase operation efficiency etc.      

The Opportunity:  

This position gives the successful candidate an opportunity to demonstrate skills particularly in relation to,

• Bring in new insight to Commercial Banking using data & analytics.
• Design analytical solutions to facilitate business strategy formulation in the country.
• Design data visualization to best represent management insights that supports senior management’s decision making for business growth, customer retention and operational efficiency.
• Involve in projects for transforming analytics capabilities in the country such as development of big data infrastructure, advanced data visualization and machine learning algorithms.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives and overall analytics strategy under the country business analytics head guidance and directives.
• Establish partnership with delivery across internal and external parties – e.g., IT, regional office, vendor and FinTech.

What you’ll do:     

• Responsible for the delivery of initiatives that translate into value to the business by increasing revenue, support the identification and management of risk and save costs by increasing efficiencies.
• Responsible for the execution of our Global Data and Analytics strategy across the Asia Pacific region and the delivery of the infrastructure components and services like data management and governance, that enable the implementation of our strategy.
• Need to work in close collaboration with colleagues based in HongKong and India.
• Need to work closely with Data & Analytics representatives across global markets for the delivery of initiatives in country.
• Support the implementation of omnichannel strategy in HK and also deliver the foundation to facilitate the roll out of the strategy in ASP sites.

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

• University degree in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or any other quantitative related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or multiple skills in business analytics, data analytics, database management, software engineering or system development.
• Possess strong skills in data analytical tools such as SAS, R, Python or SQL, familiarity with Big Query and cloud-based analytics platforms would be beneficial.
• Knowledge and experience in big data, machine learning or predictive algorithms, natural language processing, statistics modelling, and data mining.
• Attention to details, with good communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese.

What additional skills will be good to have?     

• Experience in commercial bank is a plus.
• Good experience with new technologies and data visualization tools such as QlikView or Tableau will be a plus.
• Interested in staying up to date on the latest analytics and big data technologies.
• Possess good business sense of their application in the commercial banking business.
• Highly adaptable and ability to approach things differently to achieve goals.
