Corporate and Institutional Banking Data, Analytics and CRM (CIB DAC) team in Asia Pacific is a dynamic group of data scientists, statisticians, data, CRM and business analysts, as well as data product owners.  We support the Corporate and Institutional Banking business by unlocking growth opportunities, managing risk, providing intelligent insights, and enabling efficiencies, through the use of the Bank's and external data.

The team has presence across four locations - Hong Kong, Bangalore (India), Kolkata (India) and Guangzhou (China).

We are the Global team based in Asia Pacific.  Our role is to connect with Data and Analytics stakeholders across Asia Pacific to ensure successfully delivery of CIB DAC products and services.     

The Opportunity:  

As an integral member of lending fraud risk team, Data Scientist is a key position driving the innovation directions, initiatives and commercial use of the outcomes.

What you’ll do:     

• Data mining and modeling, providing exploration analysis and strategical solutions to business.

• Researching, developing and implementing the most innovative machine learning, artificial intelligence.

• Transferring machine learning solutions on transitioning prototypes to high-performance production platform.

• Utilizing multiple modeling and analysis applications on Clouds.   

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

• Familiar with data science tools and environment such as AWS, GCP and Hadoop, must have strong experience in Python Programming to perform complex statistical analysis of large datasets.

• Strong technical skills in machine learning, deep learning, AI/GenAI, Agentic AI etc. At least have one project development and implementation experience in, customer recommendation system, social network analysis, NLP/NLU, imagine recognition.

• Candidates who have banking or insurance financial working experience or with modeling and analysis on Clouds are preferred.

• Team player with business and data sensitivity; excellent verbal and written communication skills.   

What additional skills will be good to have?     

• Frontend & Backend development skills, e.g. React, FastAPI, Flask, SpringBoot, streamlit, Python Dash and etc.

• Digital product design experience.
