Wholesale and Portfolio Management (WPM) is part of Structured Finance within HSBC UK Bank Plc (HBUK) Commercial Bank (CMB) which is a combination of specialist disciplines working to support the CMB Business.  

WPM has oversight across all segments of CMB for debt pricing, balance sheet allocation, and is ultimately responsible for maximising the financial return on assets deployed by CMB as well as employing Distribution strategies to optimise RWAs and mitigate credit risk.

We are currently seeking a diligent and proactive person to join the Distribution team within WPM as Director, Wholesale Portfolio Management.

In this role, you will:

• Work to deliver a programme of synthetic Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLOs.)  This includes (but is not limited to):
     • Supporting the establishment of workstreams required and timelines
     • Cost / benefit analysis
     • Managing collation of information
     • Identification of eligible facilities ensuring correct representation of CMB assets
     • Understanding of Facility Agreements, both internal and LMA.
• Lead and / or support the development and implementation of other Distribution tools such as Non-Payment Insurance which may include development of Operating Models.
• Understand and analyse the composition of the UK CMB portfolio (size, sector, asset classes, SNC positions) to understand viability of different Distribution structures.
• Management of internal processes to achieve relevant sign-offs and support, including senior UK and board level approvals.
• Lead and contribute to a wide range of Working Groups to drive efficiencies in Balance Sheet Velocity workstreams.
• Drive forward subject matter expert (SME) colleagues in a range of disciplines (Data, Technology, Finance, Execution) to deliver outcomes in line with project objectives. 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Knowledge of UK CMB corporate lending.
• Solid understanding of structured finance, risk mitigation strategies and capital deployment processes
• Demonstrated an ability to use bank system and platforms such as CARM, BMM, LoanIQ, Omnia and DRR
• An understanding of securitisation structures (not essential).
• Strong influencing skills with an ability to build positive working relationships with senior stakeholders in the UK and in CIB. 
• Proficiency with Excel as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to guide junior members of the team.
• Desire to drive improvements in efficiency of bank systems and processes outside of specific distribution activity and support the structuring of complex products.

The base location of this role is London operating a Hybrid working model, with a requirement of being in the office at least 3 days a week.
