Finance – Financial Reporting

Hang Seng's Finance function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial and regulatory reporting, ESG disclosures, capital planning, financial control and SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and treasury and investment finance.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as ESG Reporting Manager – Short Term Assignment (STA) for 3 months.

Principal responsibilities

  • Work on financial reporting focusing ESG disclosures, an area of growing interest to regulators, investors, and the wider external market with evolving disclosure rules and regulations
  • Work with business and finance stakeholders to ensure the Bank’s external ESG disclosures are fair, balanced, understandable, meet disclosure requirements and are in line with the Group’s ESG disclosures
  • Ensure robust assurance and oversight of disclosed ESG materials
  • Oversee the production of the Bank’s ESG disclosures to ensure consistent, reliable and accurate reporting of non-financial data, including but not limited to production of the ESG content within the Bank’s Annual Report and Accounts
  • Manage operational aspects of ESG disclosures including management, engagement of external independent assurance, legal comments and liaising with contributors across business and function to reflect in the final disclosures
  • Support, consult and engage with key stakeholders including driving the delivery of certain new metrics as a result of new regulations and commitments
Requirements
  • University degree, preferably with major in Finance, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related disciplines.
  • Highly-motivated, diligent, collaborative, personable and capable of working independently and exercising judgment.
  • Project management skills, including creating lean processes and governance structures.
  • Experience within control or assurance design or execution.
  • Extensive years of experience within banking at a major institution, ideally with experience of managing business performance and new reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of HASE’s and HSBC’s business strategy, operations and structure.
  • Strong people and communication skills – able to develop and articulate a viewpoint when working with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Able to prioritise tasks, resolve problems and respond effectively to emerging issues.
  • Able effectively to work effectively within a complex, global organization.
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) and fluent Chinese (spoken in Cantonese preferred, reading and written).
