Here in Ireland, you’ll help evolve and grow our business.  ETFs are a strategic and growing product for HSBC globally.  The ETF Product Delivery team provide solutions to our operations teams, and clients, to support of ETF business.  
The Business Analyst (“BA”) role involves taking responsibility for elements of product delivery within the Product Delivery team with a focus on the Europe region and also working on APAC initiatives where required.   

In this role you will:

  • Evaluate and reconcile information from various sources, determining user needs and platform requirements. 
  • You will work with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders to determine requirements
  • Clearly define, document, review and obtain sign-off for requirements related to internal or client-requested changes, collaborating with IT , product, vendor and operations teams. 
  • Manage product backlogs, monitor project progress and track records using tools like JIRA, Teams and Confluence. 
  • Flexible in working on technical solutions and system configurations for delivery to the Business or clients, including supporting ‘GO LIVE’ activities. 
  • Prepare test scripts/ scenarios for documented requirements and manage UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and regression execution, working with vendors and clients as required during test phases
  • Prepare user guides and BCP updates as required
  • Support the deployment of the ETF platforms across the European and APAC markets performing gap analysis and defining system enhancements as needed. 
  • Identify risks, streamline end-to-end processes for the ETF service model and partner with senior stakeholders on opportunities aligned with the product roadmap to improve efficiency and the client experience.
  • Maintain and up-to-date action log and provide regular project status reports to working level committees and external stakeholders
  • Support the ETF Operations teams as required to resolve any technical issues impacting delivery against SLAs

You should apply if you have: 

  • At least 5+ years relevant business analyst experience in securities service industry.  
  • Self-starter with the ability to act on initiative and to drive work independently in a fast pace and deadline driven environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision but invoking escalation as appropriate.
  • Technical knowledge an advantage – API, Swift, SFTP etc 
  • Prior ETF experience is preferred; having an understanding of the ETF order lifecycle from trading to settlement and ETF service model within the broader Securities Services business would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, transfer agency and custody processes an advantage
  • Previous experience working with clients, third party vendors and outsource providers will be very advantageous
  • Strong communication skills; must be capable of producing clear, unambiguous status reports, writing detailed reports, minutes and actions, making presentations to internal and external audiences,
  • Previous experience working on multiple projects in parallel and ability to prioritize accordingly with the ability to plan and organize your workload to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities
  • A proven track record in the successful delivery of fast-paced change initiatives is essential for any successful candidate
  • The team is global, so flexibility in working hours is required to facilitate collaboration with team based in APAC
