Our team of finance professionals partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions. 

In this role you will be managing key stakeholders across International Wealth & Premier Banking (IW&PB) collaborating closely with senior leaders and partnering with finance, COO and HR whilst also identifying key issues / opportunities and using HSBC and external sources to provide actionable recommendations for IW&PB. You will act as trusted partner for business leaders, in particular Global Private Bank (GPB) and Western markets. The role will lead the development of strategic initiatives and effectively help to drive strategic execution including track periodically progress against agreed KPIs, and communicates (both written and oral) the recommendations / insights with colleagues both within strategy and outside of the function.

In this role you will:

  • Lead strategic IW&PB and GPB projects assessing structural long-term opportunities for the business
  • Work with Head of GPB Strategy on strategic reviews and to improve quality of strategic planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance (included close ongoing collaboration with GPB finance tea to ensure alignment between strategic direction and assessment of financial performance)
  • Ensure proper and timely consideration of market, industry and competitor analysis (including benchmarking) to support planning and performance management activities
  • Bring in industry leading insights that help make adequate business decisions for HSBC
  • Interface with external parties e.g., consulting firms, as needed, to gather thought leadership and assess industry developments
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive experience within a Strategic Management or Consulting environment playing a leading and influential role - essential
  • A proven track record of driving conceptual change is essential. The ability to manage ambiguity, different priorities and deliver tangible and effective outcomes under time constraints is key.
  • Private Banking or Wealth experience is desirable but not essential
  • Analytical rigor and accuracy for modelling, qualitative and quantitative analyses as well as the ability make your findings readable/understandable for executive level stakeholders - essential  
  • Excellent problem solving skills; able to understand and break down problems, shape insights / new concepts, and define actionable next steps and objectives
