CIB & HBEU include Global Payments Solutions (GPS), Global Trade Solutions (GTS), Markets & Securities Services (MSS), Investment Banking, Global Coverage and key geographies in Europe and the Americas.
The CIB & HBEU GCIO function comprises a global team of circa 17,000 staff worldwide and an annual operating budget of approximately $2bn. The CIO for CIB & HBEU reports into the Group CIO who is responsible for circa 60,000 staff and an annual operating budget of approximately $7 billion.
The Group Chief Information Office (GCIO) Chief Operating Office (COO) team has aligned teams for each of Global Business’ and Global Functions. This role is part of the CIB & HBEU aligned Operations Director team and will be responsible for Leading Vendor Management sub-pillar for CIB & HBEU, in close collaboration with the Head of Vendor Management and central teams.
The role holder will be responsible for CIB & HBEUs end-to-end Vendor Management, working in tandem with the Head of Vendor Management CIB for strategy & best practice, and partnering closely with Procurement, Architecture, CIO’s, Ops Managers, Finance and Risk functions across all stages of the Vendor lifecycle.
What you’ll do
• Align key stakeholders on objectives and the Tech/Business strategy for each deal.• Maintain an end-to-end view (vertical + horizontal) across value streams/co-design to avoid duplication and ensure a cohesive provider/tooling strategy (new and existing vendors).• Define and provide third-party requirements and strategy.• Analyse options and consult business cases, including P&L impacts.• Partner with Finance and Asset Class Heads to develop and prioritise a funding plan across RTB, CTB and other portfolios (e.g., LTO), and confirm the financial, workforce and recharge models.• Support Vendor Management team you will lead and Procurement teams with commercial negotiation, assessment and deal structuring; ensure contracts meet requirements.• Manage approvals and execution: run TPS approvals, support COO/Finance/Tech briefings.• Lead post-execution governance and leadership: validate benefits, manage forecasting/invoicing/contract distribution and risk/vendor performance (TPEM), chair vendor forums, and lead the CIB HBEU Vendor Management team.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Strong understanding of technology operational management requirements in banking, including regulatory expectations.• Knowledge of the external environment (political, market and competitor dynamics) and how it impacts technology strategy and delivery.• Ability to translate technology strategy into executable plans, aligning governance, accountabilities and outcomes.• Proven experience leading delivery in complex, matrixed organisations, influencing across functions and senior stakeholders.• Deep financial and commercial awareness, balancing cost, value, risk and delivery priorities.• Demonstrable management of significant budgets, resource plans, transformation initiatives and project/portfolio delivery with measurable results.• Strong operational risk management capability, identifying, mitigating and monitoring risks and control effectiveness.• Excellent stakeholder management and analytical skills, using data-driven insight to shape direction and drive business outcomes aligned to HSBC strategy.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 21 141 PLN – 31 708 PLN (monthly, gross).
Additional car allowance in the amount of 4786 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
