Role purpose (overall high-level summary of the role)
- Third Party Management (TPM) is the process of identification, assessment, remediation and ongoing management of the risk HSBC is exposed to when buying goods or services from a third party. This is an essential part of our business because it;
- Ensures we comply to our regulatory obligations
- Protects HSBC’s brand, values and reputation
- Enables us to meet our business needs and support critical business services
- Reduces the risk of doing business with third parties
- Supports our policies and provides a consistent approach across the bank
We are building a Delivery Hub within Global Operations, to service HSBC and ensure that all activities required to fulfil our TPM obligations are completed in a standardised, accurate, timely and compliant manner.
The purpose of this role is to manage Hub resources, the AVP – GTPM Hub Team Lead will focus on the people management and development responsibilities within the Hub, in particular to ensure that there are the correct skills in place to meet demand, to identify development or learning opportunities for resource and manage the performance of Hub resource.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
The AVP - GTPM Hub Team Lead to;
- Lead, manage and motivate the team of Hub resource
- Ensure that the team members are managing day to day transactional requirements of the customers in an efficient manner and in line with the agreed framework & SLA’s
- Work with the Global Hub teams to ensure maximum efficiency and coordinate various deliverables across the Hubs
- Manage Hub resource performance, conducting regular 1-2-1’s and performance appraisals
- Understand performance across the team and track against agreed service levels
- Ensure that the Hub resource is skilled to meet demand and work closely with the MI & reporting team to ensure that demand is understood, and capacity and skills are available to support it
- Identify and support development opportunities for Hub resource
- Escalate any issues in a timely manner to your Third-Party Management Hub Lead

Functional Knowledge
- The ability to demonstrate outstanding people management / leadership skills during times of significant change / creation of a new ‘function’ or initiatives
- A good understanding and experience of the Global Businesses and Global Functions within a Bank.
- Prior Third Party Risk Management related operational risk experience with a financial institution or at a regulatory agency or major consulting firm would be desirable
- Demonstrable examples of teamwork and collaboration with internal and external customers
- Attention to detail and proactive awareness of internal and external policies
- Have excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills with peers, subordinates and suppliers
- A good understanding of the regulatory environment within the region and knowledge of 3rd party risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient in MS tools
- Prior experience of working across 1 or more Risk Domains would be desirable (providing support and guidance to business functions);

- Academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree or demonstration of relevant industry experience
- The HUB will support global businesses and functions, the ability to have strong written and verbal skills and converse fluently in English is Essential and other languages would be desirable.
