Employee Vetting is an important aspect of onboarding new employees at HSBC. The team also conducts re-vetting on higher risk employees in the bank. Employee Vetting is all about asking and evidencing the right questions to prospective candidates and employees in order to reduce risk to HSBC. The questions seek to verify a number of different aspects, for example identity, criminal background, credit history, employment, education and a number of other similar checks.
AVP Oversight & Control roles are responsible for providing a single functional resolution for all investigations for HSBC. They manage intake and triage for all case leads and enquiries through a globally consistent access point, conduct and co-ordinate investigative activity at country/regional/global level, produce case output to drive action by internal risk and control owners and author and file reports with appropriate authorities.
What you’ll do
- Directly influence the operational effectiveness of the functional/functional unit. Co-ordinate and manage projects; typically working on large, moderately complex projects/assignments
- Support decisions through advice, counsel or services in area of specialization.
- Be accountable for delivery against prescribed targets, resourcing and responsible for volume, quality and timeliness of end results.
- Support change initiatives and embed change initiatives within own team.
- Enhance the Governance on track for Process and People.
- Review key risk and performance indicators, work with HR and vendors to identify trends, and assist the delivery teams in agreeing remediating actions or escalating critical issues or risks.
- Build a trusted relationship with key stakeholders in HR, Legal and Global Business/Global Functions to achieve a proactive and beneficial partnership approach to delivering the vetting services to regional customers.
- Support for local supplier relationship managers. Work closely with the vendor to ensure that requirements are met, that local changes are implemented and to deliver continual service improvements that mitigate risks.
- Challenge vetting controls, process and content, often in tandem with Group vetting, to ensure that teams are achieving best possible vetting effect and delivering the best possible vetting service to regional customers.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Good understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives.
- Good knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
- Clear and good understanding of Employee Vetting and the elements involved.
- A good understanding of the Global Businesses/Functions.
- Proven leading experience and experience of supporting stakeholders and of driving forward change.
- Good investigative or financial crime related experience.
- Strong relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
- An innovative approach to problem solving. Ability to make critical decisions and prioritise work. Good analytical capability.
- Strong organisational, time management and planning skills.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 15025 PLN – 22533 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
