Some careers shine brighter than others.
If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

Your career opportunity
As a Technology Global Portfolio Manager (Cards Value Stream), you’ll shape and drive the early-stage planning and delivery pipeline for a global Cards technology value stream. You’ll sit at the centre of business and technology, translating strategy into a prioritised, well-estimated portfolio of initiatives, with clear scope, outcomes, dependencies, and delivery plans.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, aligning senior stakeholders, and ensuring teams start well—because good delivery starts with great planning.

What you’ll do
    • Lead early-stage initiative shaping: intake, discovery framing, sizing, prioritisation, and mobilisation.
    • Own and maintain the value stream roadmap, aligned to Cards strategy, regulatory needs, and technology direction.
    • Drive end-to-end planning and estimation: scope, milestones, resourcing, cost, benefits, and risks.
    • Run portfolio governance routines: prioritisation forums, planning checkpoints, and RAID reviews.
    • Monitor delivery health, escalate issues early, and enable timely decisions.
    • Act as the primary interface across Product, Business Sponsors, Technology, Architecture, Engineering, and Change/Operations.
    • Translate business outcomes into delivery-ready plans with clear scope, constraints, and trade-offs.
    • Manage cross-team/cross-region dependencies and align engineering capacity, skills, sequencing, and benefits tracking to the roadmap.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Portfolio / programme delivery experience in technology environments, with strong capability in planning, estimation, and mobilisation.
    • Proven experience working as a business-technology integrator, able to influence and align stakeholders at multiple levels.
    • Strong understanding of Cards products and lifecycle, such as credit/debit card journeys, authorisation, clearing & settlement, disputes/chargebacks, fraud, servicing, and digital channels (depth in one or more areas is fine).
    • Solid knowledge of project delivery lifecycle (initiation → discovery → delivery → release), including governance, risk management, and delivery controls.
    • Experience with value stream / agile delivery concepts (e.g., epics/features, PI planning concepts, lean prioritisation, dependency mapping).
    • Strong communication skills: able to produce clear roadmaps, plans, status reporting, and executive-ready updates.
    • Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organisation, managing ambiguity and driving decisions.

The pay range for this role is 18259 PLN - 27391 PLN (monthly, gross).
