Global Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. Our global team of finance professionals’ partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions.  To support this purpose Global Finance established an internal consultancy known as Finance Solutions Group (FSG) to effectively and efficiently support critical transformation programs, delivering maximum value for Global Finance.

What you’ll do
    • Provide expert Regulatory Reporting inputs into the change programs/BAU processes to which they are assigned. 
    • Manage a team of junior consultants, providing coaching and support to the team and overall management of their team’s performance. 
    • Act as an escalation point on their team’s assignments and work with the team and stakeholders to resolve any challenges that may impact agreed outcomes. 
    • End-to-end ownership of assigned outcomes as part of “placement” within the specific change programs and/or BAU processes. 
    • Leader within the Regulatory Reporting capability, contributing to upskilling and continuous learning of employees within the capability. 
    • Accountable for supporting resources allocated to projects ensuring high quality deliveries, as well as escalation, incident management, and stakeholder management. 
    • Ensure that the outputs, as agreed with the change program/BAU process lead, are of a high quality, and prepared in accordance with accepted policy.
    • Key stakeholder in the interpretation of new requirements for the capability. 

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Significant Regulatory Reporting Experience in one or more of the following: Liquidity, Treasury, RWA, Capital, Leverage Ratio, FinRep, Stress Testing.
    • Excellent working knowledge of the PRA rules/requirements (or another similar/major regulatory regime) and ability to implement/operationalise those rules and articulate any operational risk associated with adoption/implementation.
    • Understanding of control frameworks and how to implement effective controls in practice.
    • Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.
    • Good understanding of financial products and how they impact reporting requirement, and more generically the banking business, balance sheet and P&L.
    • Good understanding of Financial Reporting e.g. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Good understanding of the key financial risks to which Banks are exposed e.g. Credit Risk, Market Risk etc.
    • Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location.
