• Own and lead the end to end risk governance cycles for the Risk Management Meeting, ensuring a clear, communicated and agreed delivery plan across all stakeholders. As part of this you will have the opportunity to work with the CRCO and other senior executives to influence and set what receives executive and non-executive focus. You will execute against the agreed agenda, ensuring papers are submitted to timelines, are of high quality and adhere to the How We Lead principles.

• Deliver enterprise risk analysis and reporting, including external disclosures that provide a connected view of risk, highlighting concentrations, systemic exposures and emerging vulnerabilities, with accurate, timely and consistent reporting of the risk profile, risk appetite position and governance narrative.

• Own the broader team delivery plan, working with other team members to ensure it supports our ambition and key priorities. Escalate material issues promptly, along with recommended solutions.

• Support the Head of ERM with the running of the function and undertake ‘special projects’ as required.

• Work with multiple stakeholders across all three lines of defence and of varying seniority. This is a high profile role with the opportunity to drive improved outcome for customers and the organisation.

• Produce and coordinate high-quality executive and non-executive ready materials (packs, dashboards, committee papers, briefings, talking points) for senior executives, non-executives and governance forums. These must provide effective enterprise risk insights, and clear messaging and story.

• Work with experts across risk domains to align on enterprise implications—clarifying the risk problem and the decision required, producing a single coherent view for stakeholders while ensuring specialist teams remain accountable for domain execution.

• Excellent planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to think strategically and ‘bigger picture’, including connecting and adapting BAU deliverables to the organisations ambition and key priorities.

• Strong level of risk management knowledge, including understanding of the Risk Management Framework, how it is used in HSBC and the value it brings to achieving strategic priorities.

• Experience in production of risk insights and internal/ external reporting, preferably for senior audiences.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels and develop compelling and logically structured presentations and papers that are thoughtful, clear and concise.

• Knowledge of a financial institutions business model, products and key risk drivers.

• Ability to lead and promote a strong risk control culture and continually improve risk awareness.

• Proven ability to develop networks with key stakeholders and support a multi-locational team of professionals.

• Providing expert advice and robust challenge, delivering risk management policies and managing risks and controls.

• Advanced Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel and Word) skills.
