The role is based in HSBC Global Finance Centre in Krakow, Poland. The Centre as a world-class Finance function supports the development of the businesses across the European region. 
The Financial Accounting team covers wide range of financial processes: Accounting, Financial Control, Reporting (Group, Regulatory and Management Information), Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Partnering. The HSBC Global Finance Centre focuses on systems standardization and process transformation to deliver the highest quality analysis and insight to all supported countries.
This role is to be the key member of the operational accounting team specialized in securitizations, special purpose vehicles and structured finance entities. Specifically, the products are asset backed securities, various structured finance products and hedging if required. The role will deal with accounting and cash flows end to end along with related control activity, as well as financial and regulatory reporting disclosure requirements, financial packs to corporate service provider if required and audit

What you’ll do
    • Deliver Operational Accounting and Financial Control responsibilities. 
    • Perform and supervise the activities of the Team which is critical for business to meet their business objectives. Perform and supervise month-end closing process and consolidation activities. Perform and supervise Balance Sheet reconciliations.
    • Ensure accuracy and data integrity in the end-to-end financial and regulatory reporting process by compliance with the internal control requirements and assessing the adequacy in the changing environment.
    • Work on improving the level of automation by working closely within and across teams to identify solutions to improve the timeliness and accuracy of the reporting and minimize manual intervention. Continually assess the operational risk inherent in the process, taking account of changing operational procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Support the company directors/management in the understanding and analysis of the financial data produced. Liaise with audit queries. Ad hoc tasks as delegated by the line manager and business area
    • Ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained through regular dialogue with key stakeholders.
    • Provide accurate and timely financial information to senior management and HSBC Group. Provide support and guidance on finance related topics.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Qualified accountant or relevant university degree. Knowledge of Structured Finance and Securitisation entities would be an asset. Knowledge of Banking regulations will be a plus.
    • Understanding of GL systems and reporting software. At least 5 years of experience in Accounting, Reporting, Audit or Financial Control with excellent analytical skills.
    • Pro-active approach to process improvement. 
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (in particular Excel and VBA).
    • Strong analytical ability, tenacity and sound commercial judgment. Confidence to communicate and build strong relationships with finance staff at all levels of the Group.
    • Be able to work independently and meet tight deadlines. 
    • Excellent English both written and verbal.
    • Change-oriented, good planning and organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing situations and to grasp new issues quickly.

The pay range for this role is 14 308 PLN – 20 000 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
