GCOO Transformation is a dedicated team that helps shape and implements strategic change for HSBC. Combining our change expertise and experience with our HSBC knowledge and network, we work hand in hand with our business and delivery partners across the world to deliver the important changes needed to achieve HSBC’s aim: to be the world’s leading international bank. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Planning & Resource Manager. This role involves end to end managing and coordinating resource planning, demand, and supply processes across the GCOO Transformation Function, supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with HSBC's objectives.


What you’ll do
    • Manage the creation and ongoing oversight of resource demand and supply plans at the Change Portfolio level, ensuring they align with approved headcount and financial budgets.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to optimize resource profiles and support strategic resource planning.
    • Collaborate with GCOO Transformation teams to ensure resource supply plans are effectively implemented.
    • Maintain a comprehensive view of current and planned resource allocations, providing insights and management information on key resource management metrics such as utilization and availability.
    • Support portfolio and global governance forums for resource prioritization, identifying and escalating resourcing conflicts and constraints.
    • Monitor metrics and collaborate with relevant parties to address variances against targets.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in HSBC Change Framework and uphold Resource Management standards.
    • Engage in discussions within GCOO Transformation to ensure strategic alignment and effective delivery of the portfolio in terms of demand & supply, financials, time, and benefits realization

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Strong understanding of operational portfolio reporting and management information.
    • Ability to operate confidently at an Executive level in a complex and diverse stakeholder environment.
    • Strong understanding, analysing and interpreting skills when working with information and variance reporting
    • 10 years of experience with at least 3 years in portfolio/programme management role on complex projects across countries or regions. Previous experience with resource management would be an advantage
    • Excellent understanding of the Programme and Project lifecycle; including working knowledge of Project Management methodologies, PMO processes and best practice techniques
    • Familiarity with Transformation toolsets, specifically Clarity PPM and GPDM, is advantageous.
    • A thorough Understanding of the purpose, culture, and fundamentals of the GCOO Transformation is beneficial.
    • Knowledge of HSBC Group structures, processes, and objectives is advantageous.
