Global regulators have an increasing expectation that firms have adequate systems and controls to conduct surveillance against, among others, market abuse offences such as Insider Dealing, Market Manipulation and Dissemination.
Offshore Communication Surveillance teams support compliance officers across all business lines in carrying out key compliance monitoring, surveillance and support activities. The team (Comms Surveillance) will support onshore Compliance offices and the various businesses Globally. The purpose is to undertake surveillance in a timely manner thus ensuring compliance (market abuse, breach of internal policies, suitability, best execution, etc.) with applicable regulations and policies. Overall, the incumbent will provide guidance / supervision and accountability for the day-to-day offshore activities.
What you’ll do
- Act as the local subject matter expert for the team in their specific surveillance area, sharing own knowledge for the good of the team and openly learns from others.
- Identify and investigate potential new forms of staff or counterparty misconduct.
- Ensure that all alerts are satisfactorily reviewed, escalated and resolved, support processes (if needed).
- Undertake timely and accurate resolution of requests by Regulators, senior management and the businesses into certain practices, businesses, individuals and events. Escalate, as appropriate, any material findings or incidents of misconduct highlighted by these investigations.
- Be responsible for identification of training needs and conducting trainings for new joiners.
- Support the growth and expansion of critical and time sensitive services across all Global Business Lines in multiple countries and contribute to the growth and development of the Surveillance team.
- Escalate potential regulatory and internal market misconduct breaches to Compliance Senior Management onshore.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Fluent English is essential.
- Very good knowledge of financial markets and financial market regulations.
- Prior experience working in financial services.
- Educated to degree level.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead by example, including being open to feedback and actively bringing up ideas to the table.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong ability to learn new technologies.
- Appropriate analytical skills to dissect key information and have a good eye for detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines, both independently and as a part of a team. Excellent time management and prioritisation of work tasks.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 9648 PLN - 12500 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
