Your career opportunity
The role is based in the Global Finance Centre in Krakow, Poland. The centre is supporting the development of the businesses across the European region.  The team is responsible also for business finance support for branches of HSBC Continental Europe and Security Services business in network sites. These covers actively partnering the Business, support CFO in analytical related matters, preparation of FRP, forecasting and budgeting. The role of VP Business Performance SSv is to support Business, in Ireland and Luxembourg, with their queries to ensure sustainable profitability of the business by providing analyses of results while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, as well as proactively recommending actions, ensure compliance with internal procedures and internal control

What you’ll do
    • Active partner with CIB (mainly but not only SSv) business stakeholders to ensure sustainable profitability of the business by providing analyses of results while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, as well as proactively recommending actions. Active partner in evaluating financial success of core strategies and key investments.
    • Business commentaries and analysis of segmental income by products and products margins.
    • Work with Sector/Regional Finance teams to provide forward looking insights and analysis.
    • Prepare of internal benchmarking analysis. Strategic plan, forecast, financial resource plan (FRP) and budget,
    • Monitor proactive and management of controllable cost base; business case prepare and review; executive management support,
    • Support the business partner in stress testing exercises. Backup and support other team members outside core responsibility area,
    • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy,
    • Lead and coach a team of Business Finance staff to ensure that the finance strategy is implemented, and act as a champion on all finance activities; including being responsible for the execution and delivery of any relevant change agenda in Finance for the team.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • An undergraduate or post graduate degree, preferably in Management Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or possess a professional accounting qualification. 
    • Minimum 8 years or more of relevant experience, including in Management & Financial reporting. Experience in leading a Business Finance team would be an added advantage. 
    • Solid Security Services business acumen; Commercially focused, with strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong business performance and management information background, both in terms of required content, production processes and understanding of what drives the numbers reported.
    • Understands and anticipates strategic implications from financial accounting perspective.  A high level of professional competence which helps to determine solutions around financial accounting procedures, controls, risk management and quality assurance.
    • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and influence at both senior and junior levels.
    • Proven ability to innovate and deliver change (process re-engineering) on a timely basis within a large, evolving, organization.
    • Proven strong leadership and management experience in the areas of strategic planning, analysis or organizational development.
    • Keep abreast of latest Financial, Accounting & Regulatory environment changes and anticipative of its impacts to the industry.
