Head of Emiratization and D&I

Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Human Resources team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Head of Emiratization will oversee, manage, and create the Emiratization Strategy for HSBC Businesses in the country and support the bank to drive the Emiratization agenda. Meeting targets through direct engagement with the stake holders and the leadership team in the bank such as the CEO, Regional Heads, Business Heads and HRBPs. Provide tactical and strategic solutions to develop and retain Emirati talent in the organization with the support of the wider Emiratization team that are in direct interaction with the population.

In this role, you will:

·       Creation of the Emiratization strategy and business plans that are in line with delivery the regulatory requirement.

·       Undertake research, business planning and coordination to deliver best in class Emiratization programmes.

·       Provide competent and consistent support to the businesses to drive the Emiratization agenda.

·       Talent management and high level resourcing needs for respective client areas.

·       Working with colleagues in HR and businesses to create and develop strategies and development activities to pro-actively support the development of national talent.

·       Build external relationships with key governing bodies and other organisations to influence policy and decision making as well as benchmark our internal efforts.

·       Build the Bank's brand as an employer of choice for local talent through building strong and proactive relationships with relevant governing bodies across the UAE.

·       Work closely with country HR to ensure the manpower planning is tuned towards ensuring placement of local talent in key roles in the organisation, specifically focusing on increasing representation at more senior levels.

·       To deliver value by acting as a change agent in driving effective behaviours.

·       Present Emiratization team as a professional and approachable team

The Inclusion Lead element to this role will drive progress in creating an inclusive environment in MENAT that promotes diversity, so we have a workforce that reflects the communities that we serve.

This includes:

·       Lead/Chair and coordinate the MENAT D&I Committee ensuring adequate communication of results against committed D&I actions and measurable progress towards D&I goals.

·       Supporting MENAT HR Leadership team and the MENAT D&I Committee to facilitate internal diversity and inclusion (D&I) activities and action plans

·       Partner with the relevant HR teams to advise managers and staff on strategies and best practices to promote and foster diversity and establish an inclusive and welcoming work environment

·       Engage with the Employee Resource Groups in MENAT to develop, communicate, coordinate, and implement D&I initiatives

·       Work closely with global Inclusion teams to ensure consistency and to develop and implement actions plans to address identified D&I barriers

·       Collaborate with the HR COEs to ensure our policies and processes are inclusive

·       Coordinate and help implement a curriculum for developing staff competencies on inclusion

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

·   Strong influencing skills to position the strategy as a meaningful priority at all levels within the business.

·   Exceptional communication skills (Arabic and English) - both written and oral.

·   Ability to think strategically.

·   Initiative and commitment to achieve.

·   Previous experience of managing complex and multi-faceted cross-functional projects.

·   Previous experience of managing Emiratization projects with demonstrated success in areas of retention, development and engagement.

·   Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.

·   Analysis and problem solving skills.

·   Interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.  

·   Proven ability to work well under pressure within demanding timescales.

·   Applicants must have a fully attested graduate degree or equivalent for visa purposes.
