In this role you will:

• Act as a key contact point with key non-PC stakeholders (including Front Office management, Traded Risk, Operations, IT and other Finance teams) regarding the accounting hedging activities within the region they are part of.
• Support the Regional Head of EMEA Hedging Unit in delivering a globally consistent, compliant and future proof hedging framework in EMEA.
• Partner with the Global Businesses, particularly with Treasury, to facilitate a sustainable and efficient risk management framework which uses accounting designations (such as hedge accounting or fair value option) to support capital and liquidity beneficial hedging strategies.
• Work with the other EMEA Hedging Unit team members and across the Group to integrate the recommended changes and processes needed to deliver a globally consistent and compliant hedging framework.
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of assurance, internal and external audit points.
• Be able to communicate risk, control framework and technical accounting requirements in a way that non-experts can understand.

Requirements

 To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Prior experience of working within a Hedge Accounting and/or Product Control environment is desirable.
• Experience of working within Audit or Financial Reporting role can be considered.
• Accounting background is essential to be considered.
• Exceptional Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
