The Business Risk and Resilience (BRR) Team are responsible for oversight of all non-financial and financial risk in their respective business area. In IWPB this encompasses Retail, Wealth, Insurance, AM, Retail Business Banking and Global Private Banking. The key functions in the day-to day-management of those risks cover Sales Quality, Business Risk and Framework, Business Financial Crime Risk, Conduct, Resilience and Data Risk, Digital risk and the oversight of all governance relating to risk management and these activities are all run out of the BRR team. The role is within the Global IWPB Procedure team, relating to the management of the IWPB Combined and Retail FIMs
The Opportunity:
The FC Procedures Delivery Manager will sit within a sub team of Global IWPB BRR and will support the IWPB Global FC Policy and Procedures Manager to ensure that Global IWPB FC Line of Business Procedures are accurately maintained and compliant with the Global FC Policy, and that the Procedures are sufficiently operationalized to meet the business requirements. The Global FC Procedures enable HSBC to maintain consistent risk management/mitigation, employ business strategy and comply with relevant regulations, therefore their maintenance and markets adherence to these are a critical infrastructure to the Bank.
What you’ll do:
Responsible for ensuring the timely completion of the team’s deliverables, with a focus on owning the day-to-day activities associated with managing the IWPB FC procedures including the development, maintenance, continual improvement and delivery of all AML, Sanctions & CDD Procedures at a Global level.
The role will oversee and coordinate production of these deliverables, working with SMEs in FCR and the business. Localisation of procedures at a country / regional level will be understood and supported where necessary, with emphasis on ensuring adequate governance is in place for deviations and dispensations.
The role works closely with the Business Financial Crime Risk (BFCR) teams and IWPB in every region and country where IWPB has a presence, providing policy and procedure SME guidance and support. This includes engagement with the different product teams, channels and brands in which IWPB operates.
The role holder will also work with the other lines of business and Global AML/FCC to drive procedure consistency and streamlining opportunities, for the benefit of the business and customers, whilst ensuring compliance with Policy.
Support writing, issuance and implementation of AML, Sanctions & CDD Line of Business procedures.
Working closely with FC and Group AML to develop to Global procedures and processes which meet the requirements of Policy alongside business led initiatives.
Providing SME knowledge to Market, Regional and Global teams. Supporting with the timely resolution of queries and where necessary, escalations, deviations and dispensations.
Ensure compliance with the LoBPs to agreed time schedules.
- Act independently providing advice and guidance to multiple stakeholders across the business, including Procedure Writers and queries arising from all colleagues’ bank wide.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Strong understanding of the Three Lines of Defence and HSBC Risk Management Framework.
A minimum of 2-years work experience in core Financial Crime risk related roles.
Strong Understanding of policy and procedure management.
Broad knowledge of Financial Crime Risk Management within the financial services industry
Understanding of HSBC risk and control framework.
Understanding of WPB and sub- business framework and key processes.
Exceptional attention to detail and written communication skills.
Strong organisational skills, with project management skills desirable.
Capability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders based on integrity and trust.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group.
Experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Managers across a global organisation.
Growth mindset and ability to acquire new skills and expertise at pace.
