Today, the GAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group’s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk, Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management.      

 

The Opportunity:  

Decision Sciences job family is structured to address business problems with quantitative solutions like building of predictive algorithms / forecasting / scenario simulations etc.. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of converting a business problem into a quantitative construct, solve it with available statistical / mathematical methods (following the right rigour), engage with IT to implement and finally interpret the model outcomes in business language. The range of business problems may cover areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, capital quantification, enhancing internal business processes etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach, justify the choice of appropriate methods to various internal and external reviewers. This talent group is expected to keep themselves apprised of latest developments and industry practices around emerging methodologies, techniques etc. and bring those in-house by applying them for better outcomes. A decision sciences job family member should be able to:

  • Converse both in technical and business language across the stakeholder matrix.

  • Lead the decision sciences practice with high quality analytical solutions for the business stakeholders across one of more regions.

  • Design, architect and manage analytics processes and infrastructure and define initiatives with senior management.

  • Supports innovative analytical thinking & solutions that results into improved business performance.

  • Interface with the business to increase awareness on how to leverage advanced analytics tools and techniques by business communities.

  • Champions changes by partnering with Global / Regional leaders and establish analytics driven business model.

  • Standardize analytical methodologies and create iterative/ agile environment.

  • Embrace market / industry best practices and bring-in best-in-class and relevant solutions for better business decisions.      

 

What you’ll do:     

  • Collaborate with business to identify opportunities for enhancing commercial performance and operational efficiency using Analytics and Data Science.

  • Design and implement data engineering pipelines for data retrieval and transformation with optimal data sources.

  • Create insightful visualizations to share the findings from your analytical work with stakeholders.

  • Design and implement robust, secure and scalable AI/ML and LLM-powered solution to improve customer experience and operational efficiency in regulated environment.

  • Ensure data quality, model governance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT teams, business units and stakeholders in agile delivery model.

  • Act as a champion for data science, guiding business users and other analysts on analytical techniques, tools, and technologies.   

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

  • Bachelor (minimum with 5+ year experience) or Master degree (with 3+ year experience) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any other quantitative discipline

  • Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent.

  • Proven experience deploying AI/ML, NLP and LLM-powered solution in production

  • Strong experience in Python (3.x).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AliCloud, AWS, Google Cloud..) and their data and AI services.

  • Solid experience of data modelling and data integration techniques.     

 

What additional skills will be good to have?     

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is a plus.

  • Good experience of SQL, Oracle/PostgreSQL, any NoSQL database, any cloud platform(AliCloud/AWS/GCP).

  • Excel at least one backend language, such as: Nodejs, Java, Shell and so on.

  • Good understanding of front-end language, such as Reactjs, Vuejs and so on.
