- Financial Accounting (FA) is responsible to provide outstanding Financial Control support in the areas of Period End Close, Accounting control & assurance and Site Reporting (GRCA reporting/Regulatory Reporting, MI and manual returns). FA is a very important function under the overall umbrella of financial control. FA ensures that there are adequate controls / checks on the sourcing, preparation and reporting of all outputs to be produced by the FR team.
What you’ll do:
- This role is for Financial Accounting (FA) sub-function for a region/LOB and all legal entities within that region/LOB. The end-to-end process will include:(a) Perform accounting events such as manual journals, which are key to the ledger close, provide robust accounting and business insight into TB analysis, exception management and book closure.
- (b) Perform Pre close monthly activities, reconciliation.
- (c) Quarterly/Monthly IFRS/FINREP/HKMA/GSIB/CE reporting, Analytical reviews and manual returns.
- (d) Cost analysis basis Global business lines.
- (e) Having prior knowledge on Saracen /FTP /TM1 /Tableau / Power Query/ advance excel will be preferred.
Risks & Controls
- Maintain defined operations Risk framework
- Adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements.
- Ensure BC plan is documented, agreed with in Country team and tested for all the processes as agreed
- Responsible for timely update and maintenance of RCAs, BIAs, PLAs and ensuring all other documents like the SOPs are in place and updated.
- Robust back up planning for uninterrupted service delivery.
Customer/ Stakeholder
- Drive performance to agreed service levels and manage In-Country teams’ expectations in a timely and professional manner
- Establish and maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism
- Operational capability must be maintained all year round given the frequency of reporting periods (monthly plus additional requirements quarterly, half-yearly and annually).
- Manage / Support In Country relationship effectively.

What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Involve in accounting control function to support the Bank’s financial, compliance and other management reporting processes with regard to existing accounting policies, requirements and initiatives
- Handle accounting control operations for account reconciliation and substantiation as well as participate in financial system development projects
- Monitor financial data integrity during system migration and assist in reviewing financial control design and implementation
- Assist in the application and impact assessment of latest accounting standards for financial reporting and disclosures
- Assist the finance functions for implementing the operational risk management initiatives according to Group guidance
- Prior experience in Reporting profiles is a must and exposure in month end close will be preferred
- Experience in Consolidation and sub consolidation will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Site Reporting at Financial Institutions will be a must.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply
- Strong technical skills which help to work on Automation and efficiency will an added advantage
- Prior experience in BS Consolidations of accounts will be an added advantage.
