The Wealth Management department established in 2014, providing efficient and excellent services to Hang Seng Bank customers in Hong Kong. The services include but not limited to Investment Fund administration, Securities, Bonds and other investment products execution and settlement, Corporate Actions processing, data maintenance for investment products and accounts, etc.

 

The Opportunity:  

To provide operations support and accounting services to investment operations. The role works within a Wealth operations team. It covers a sizeable number of activities supporting the investment lifecycle. Therefore the role will normally have achieved a professional level of competency in their functional area. Specialist process skills, business experience and investment process or investment accounting specialisms are required. Responsible for the day to day processing within Asset Management middle and back office teams. Applies general skills while developing some specialised skills in Asset Management operations appropriate to area of specialisation or the team; performs routine tasks; limited decision making required; generally works under supervision; work is performed from within specific limits of established procedures and/or defined instructions. Ensure accuracy of Custody/Third Party reconciliations and reconciliations to the asset management systems. Ensures compliance with accounting guidance.      

 

What you’ll do:     

Role and Responsibility:

  • Support back office of investment operations, such as reconciliation of Account Holdings/Activities; check portfolio holdings, trading activities, corporate actions, and cash balances with the custodian bank’s statements. Research and resolve any outstanding differences.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
  • Individuals are responsible for their own effectiveness, development and results. Specialist or Subject Matter Experts, where matrix management and understanding of Group strategy is expected. Their contribution is often as a technical/professional specialist in their field.
  • Suggest ideas and contribute to implementing actions that will improve customer experience, operational efficiency and quality.
  • Apply policies, procedures, practices and standards to their allocated tasks, taking responsibility for their own actions, to ensure the achievement of high levels of quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Ascertain regulatory requirements like Securities & Futures Ordinance and Trustee Ordinance are complied with, and relevant group instructions like Markets FIM and Fiduciary FIM are fulfilled. Ensure that all relevant control measures are undertaken to minimize the risk exposure of the Bank.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

  • Bachelor Degree holder or above in a related discipline OR other relevant qualifications.
  • Financial or accounting related certificate holder would be definite advantages.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience with sound knowledge of investment products and advanced knowledge on spreadsheet.
  • Good knowledge of Bloomberg AIM or experience with investment compliance regulation coding is a big advantage.
  • Strong attentiveness to detail, with ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good experience in Project Management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS application software and Bloomberg, strong analytical skills.
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mind-set to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
