In this role, you will:       

  • Driving sustainable growth- Applies and adheres to values, regulatory principles and global standards, 
  • The Network Engineer role supports many levels of service from tier 0, 1, & 2 and will have varying impact on the business, supporting all global services and business lines.  
  • The Network Engineer also interacts and has an impact on many other departments
  • Achieving excellence - Seeks continuous personal development in line with business strategy.
  • Identify and improve efficiency and potential improvements of networking environment.
  • Participate in the testing/piloting of new services/hardware.
  • Ensure Digital Business Services is a visible and trusted partner.  Support the delivery of a uniform, consistent relationship model which is acknowledged to deliver value.
  • Build rapport within and across teams within Digital Business Services and HTI, to improve service delivery and achieve bank objectives 
  • Work with the Incident Management team to escalate problems, and lead technical operational recovery.
  • Manages risk responsibly - Promotes to colleagues, the importance of following risk and compliance policies and procedures. Recognises inefficiencies and suggests ways to improve local risk and compliance processes
  • Ensure own efforts deliver outstanding level of customer service.
  • Ensuring that standard ITIL Processes are followed correctly and appropriately.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Engineering or IT Discipline or a proven track record of 5 years or more in a IT Environment.
  • Experience of working as a Network Engineer in a large global company is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills, focusing on remote and written communications, inclusive of ability and experience in interacting with higher positions
  • Proven judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
  • Raise and log hardware calls and manage risks associated with hardware replacements
  • Switch services between sites or to run from single site using F5 GTM/LTM, during incident or change activity.
  • Assist service recovery by taking servers out of service or introducing them into service using F5 tool or associated scripts.
  • Hands on Experience on LAN Switching/Load Balancers/Wireless Networks/Router/Switches/Network Monitoring tools.
  • Solid, and intuitive understanding of WAN & LAN technologies and how each device, protocol or system
  • Should be CCNA Certified.
  • Ability to work a 24*7*365 shift pattern.
