This role is responsible for the supporting the delivery of Platform Migrations in Securities Services.  The role supports business growth through support of the execution of fund migrations from Legacy Platforms to Target Strategic Architecture.

Product Solutions, New and Complex Products, is responsible for Delivery of Strategy to Stabilise, Scale and Transform legacy architecture to move clients to Standard Operating Model via Data Migration and enablement of standard Functionality in Target Architecture.  The primary function of the Operations Analysts is the support of analysis of large volumes of accounting and tax fund data which will be translated using existing and new strategic tooling to load onto our global accounting platforms before it is reconciled back to the source.  Prior to loading into Production, the data will be validated through multiple test phases working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders. The Operations Analysts will be working with the wider Programme to support the execution of Test Cases, Migration Break review, parallel run exception review and post live warranty support. Additionally the Operations Analysts may get involved in the testing and roll out of enhanced technology solutions designed to expedite the migration process at scale.

Each migration project requires in-depth analysis of various reports such as TB, Price Files, Valuation, Holding, Assets, between the exiting TPA and HSBC adhering to stringent planned milestones to support a seamless transition to BAU within our Business Teams.  

 

The Opportunity:  

The Operations Analysts will support the end to end delivery of Fund Accounting Migration activities, across multiple FA platforms, for key Securities Services clients supporting global business growth in Asia and Europe.

The role is of an Operations Analysts to support delivery of client migrations playing a key role across strategic and non-strategic projects.  The role holder will have strong knowledge of fund accounting to understand fund structures, instrument pricing, trial balance accounts, tax and fee structures in the context of Testing and reconciling through the phases of migration including Systems Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing / Model Office / Parallel Run and Post Live Warranty.  In addition, this role is expected to be able to consider the impact on operational processes supporting the funds and the wider project team.

 

What you’ll do:     

  • Have an understanding of project definition (scope, objectives, dependencies, assumptions, acceptance criteria, issues and risks).

  • Work with product and other internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless migration of fund data for clients.

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to determine full scope and execution plan for the migration of fund data to HSBC.

  • Support the Migration Manager to execute a detailed migration plan to deliver activities, resource allocations and on-boarding interdependencies.

Detailed migration skill set required:

  • Ability to perform in depth analysis of fund structures, trial balances, fee structures and complex assets.

  • Understand how to map trial balance accounts between platforms and the downstream implications.

  • Execution of the testing of data load activities and understanding the success criteria.

  • Reconcile the migration load and deliver reconciliation activities using ETL Tooling.

  • Work with internal and external operational SME’s to understand the incoming data and how it will be delivered back out to the internal stakeholders.

  • Deliver against assigned work plans and ensure activities around testing and parallel run are completed successfully for each on-boarding.

  • Report risks, issues, dependencies and changes in scope to the project PM.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate opportunities to improve the existing migration process and experiment with future tooling and applications.

  • Identify areas to streamline and introduce automation to remove manual or repetitive processes

  • Participate in wider team initiatives to support Securities Services Strategy. 

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

  • Knowledge of security services platforms, functions and products is necessary.

  • Some operational experience in Fund Administration across different fund types. (Eg; OEICs, UTs, SICAV, L&P, TTF, ETF, IBOR, Shadow accounting, Pension).

  • Experience in the delivery of fund accounting migrations / client on-boarding projects and understanding of complex operational environments.

  • Client facing migration management or strong Fund Accounting Operational Background preferred.

  • Experience of leading virtual project teams.

  • Able to demonstrate ability to build relationships with Senior stakeholders and networks across the business.

  • Good business requirements and testing awareness.

  • Proven ability to prioritise competing demands, taking into account relative priorities.

  • Strong communicator both verbally and written with a comprehensive understanding of content and context.

  • Excellent presentation skills and can tailor communication methods for the audience and environment.

  • Strong analytic, problem solving and decision making abilities.

  • Experience of training other and can apply knowledge transfer to activities.

  • Ability to articulate a challenging strategic vision and motivate others.
