The Opportunity:

  • This role will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and informed decision-making. The role is focused on harnessing advanced data analytics and decision science methodologies to improve processes, mitigate risks, enhance compliance, and reduce operational inefficiencies. The role involves analyzing large, multi-dimensional datasets to identify patterns, and develops predictive models to preempt potential bottlenecks, errors, or risks. Additionally, the role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing insights that empower decision-makers to streamline operations, enhance cost-effectiveness, and improve the institution’s overall resilience to disruptions.

What you’ll do:

  • The candidate will deliver on the implementation of the framework through following activities

Impact on the Business

  • Develop, implement, and maintain advanced decision-support models (e.g., predictive analytics, optimization, and simulation) to address business challenges.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Deliver quantitative models and algorithms that support strategic decisions, operational efficiencies, and revenue growth.
  • Quantify and communicate the business impact of implemented solutions to demonstrate value creation.
  • Develop actionable hypotheses and apply the right mix of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to identify causes and solutions

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with business leaders, product teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner, tailored to the needs of non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with stakeholders to integrate decision science models into business workflows and customer-facing applications.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders by offering insights that enhance customer satisfaction and experience.

Operational Performance

  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of developed models through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Optimize existing processes and decision systems using automation, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Develop dashboards and real-time reporting tools to monitor the effectiveness of decision science initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by regularly evaluating the performance and relevance of analytical tools and processes.

Capability and People Development

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and decision analytics.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization’s data science capability by implementing innovative techniques and sharing knowledge.

  • Monitor the accuracy and reliability of data pipelines and ensure data integrity across all stages of analysis.
  • Mitigate risks associated with decision-support systems through thorough validation, testing, and regular audits.

Major Challenges

  • The programme is highly complex, including: a diverse matrix, senior stakeholders, substantial work-streams.
  • Managing across a wide variety of differing core processes and data technologies.
  • Need to be able to work at multiple levels of the organization: senior management to ensure alignment and support for the program as well as project teams responsible for execution and delivery.
Requirements

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and software, such as Python, Alteryx and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Qliksense.
  • Strong understanding of predictive modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms.

  • Ability to analyze large, multi-dimensional datasets to identify patterns and trends.
  • Expertise in developing predictive models to anticipate operational challenges.
  • Competence in conducting risk assessments and devising data-driven mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in providing scenario analysis and simulations to support strategic decision-making.

Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify inefficiencies and propose cost-saving measures.
  • Capability to implement anomaly detection systems and ensure data integrity.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in numerate subject, perhaps mathematics or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Alteryx developer certification is a must. Python, SQL and Machine learning certifications are good to have. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services (Banking, Wealth Management, and Capital Markets) business processes and resultant information needs: client, risk / regulatory / finance, etc.
