Following the Prudential Regulation Authorities (PRA) industry-wide review of Trading Controls across banks, the Trading Controls Programme was established to address the PRA’s observations and expectations. Key front-to-back enhancements to technology, processes and governance are being implemented across MSS to ensure HSBC has robust and sustainable Trading Controls.
 
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: PM/BA - Regulatory Trading Controls
 
This role is based in MSS (Markets and Securities Services) within the PRA Trading Controls Programme and will support the broader management of the PRA Trading Controls portfolio, financial management, portfolio budget allocations, and written documentation of key regulatory reporting material.

In this role you will:
 
•    Provide project management for a set of enhancements to improve and remediate issues with the current Permitted Instruments (PI) Monitoring tooling and operating model which have associated PRA commitments.
•    Oversee the analysis and execution of end-to-end delivery of the Transformation Strategy including mobilisation, oversight, and responsibility for the execution of projects.
•    Help manage risks and issues and work to ensure benefits are realised in committed timeframes, including being responsible for reporting inputs such as status reports, KPIs, financials so that they feed into portfolio and senior governance forums appropriately and facilitate decision-making at an executive level.
•    Apply project management best-practice disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of Permitted Instruments (PI) Monitoring tooling and global roll-out of the operating model.
•    Act as the initial point person for day-to-day queries and risk and issue escalation across all workstreams within the Trading Controls portfolio.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
 
•    In-depth knowledge of the project lifecycle and front/middle office lifecycles is paramount as is experience of non-financial risk
•    A strong understanding of PRA Trading Controls including expectations across Supervision, Trade Validation Controls, Surveillance, Trade Capture, Intraday Risk Management, Governance and Policies is essential
•    Knowledge of Global Markets Businesses and Products with experience of producing regulatory reporting material and Steering Committee material to an exacting standard is advantageous
•    Solid reporting skills in MS-Office suite, Clarity and SharePoint and an exemplary understanding of project management and best practice with some experience of financial management, budget planning and allocations and the ability to articulate complex detail in a simple, easy-to-understand manner for stakeholder groups.
•    A self-starter who can work autonomously and is confident in building relationships quickly across various teams to enable efficient and effective working with distributed, remote and office-based stakeholders
