Department – WPB

• Manage the regional WPB Technology portfolio end to end, accountable for overall delivery of the portfolio to agreed timelines, costs and quality.
• Understanding of the Value Stream Investment Plan (VSIP) and planning process and how it applies across the region.
• Drive governance forums such as Technology OpCos and enable regular and consistent reporting across the Portfolio to multiple stakeholders, including financial and progress status.
• Manage the timely and effective deployment of large software programs in the EMEA region for HSBC to ensure the delivery of the portfolio.
• Organize and Manage Programme Increment (PI) Planning activities facilitate the prioritization of initiatives by the business and enable delivery teams to commit on deliveries for the upcoming quarter.
• Drive up the adoption of metrics and establish strategies to increase productivity and performance of teams.
• Connect portfolio to strategy and maintain Portfolio roadmap
• Defining guardrails and establish portfolio flow
• Lead the adoption of Agile ways of working across value streams
• Adoption of change framework, governance and track compliance

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• A graduate degree preferably in an IT discipline. Certifications on project management, agile frameworks will be an added advantage.
• Strong and proven track record of Portfolio/Programme management experience , Overall experience of 10+ yrs years within an IT or related field.
• Clear understanding of the different categories of the Portfolio, be it Discretionary, Regulatory and Compliance with the ability to assess the priority of such initiatives.
• Ability to manage both the Change the Bank and Run the Bank aspects of the WPB Tech Portfolio, ensuring the right balance of delivery and quality to maintain a high level of availability for our production services.
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders
• Understanding of IT finance and experience of effective management of budgets and expenditure
• Experience in working with globally located multi-disciplined teams is essential
• Strong written and verbal communication especially with senior stakeholders in Business & IT
• Experience of working in an Agile framework.
• Familiar with Jira, Confluence, and other tools to help manage initiatives within the Portfolio.
• Ability to navigate the organization and gauge when to escalate issues regarding the Portfolio (RAGs, finances, resources etc. and initiatives there-in).
• Experience working on complex regulatory projects involving interactions with external stakeholders and multiple internal delivery teams is desired.
• Ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment, competent at managing changing priorities and able to pivot on strategy and priorities when business needs arise.
