We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Product Manager - Mortgages.
The Secured Lending UK Team is part of Retail Banking and has responsibility for the mortgage portfolios of HSBC and First Direct, representing c.£100bn+ in balances, and which generate a significant part of UK Retail Bank and Wealth Management profit. The team drives all product development, pricing, retention, communication, product management and maintains compliance with relevant regulatory and internal policy mandates across the UK bank.
The FCA introduced Consumer Duty Regulation which has driven fundamental shift in the industry for all banks.
FCA requires that all firms put consumers at the heart of their businesses, offering products and services that are fit for purpose and which they know represent fair value.
This is an exciting opportunity to continue the work on compliance with Consumer Duty regulations that fundamentally shift the mind set of all financial institutes in evidencing fair and good outcomes for our customers. This role is all about helping the Mortgage Product team in implementing, embedding and monitoring the requirements.

In this role you will:
• Drive the continuous review of product journeys and data points to identify areas of frictions and support the re-engineering of the journey
• Provide Mortgage Product expertise and help embed consumer duty regulations across our business areas, including the considerations for training, communications, improvements to operating models, policy and procedures
• Facilitate our Customer Outcome Review Meeting to ensure we are managing and monitoring this across the team and the journey owners
• Utilise customer insights when reviewing end to end customer journey design, product design, and operational processes across Channels and/or Journeys for all our customer including those with vulnerabilities
• Help identify risks and blockers to completion and work to resolve or escalates where required
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• A working knowledge of the end-to-end UK Mortgage journey and the impact of Consumer Duty (essential)
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills both written and verbal across all stakeholder levels (essential)
• Working experience of Governance Management (essential)
• A proven ability in effectively analysing data, identifying improvement opportunities and driving positive change (essential)
• Working experience of Governance Management (essential)
This is a full-time role which can be based in any of the following hubs: Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield or Glasgow.
