Quantitative Equity Investment Specialist

HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We are currently seeking someone to join our team HSBC Asset Management and an overview of the role is:
Be an active contributor in driving the growth of our Quantitative Equity strategy with a focus on the institutional, wholesale and the bank’s own proprietary channel. You will be responsible for the ongoing development and championing of the quantitative equity product offering. It will be crucial the individual can work effectively with the investment specialists for Quantitative Equity strategies as well as with wider investment, sales and marketing functions. The role primarily supports client-facing activity, assisting the growth of our quantitative equity business but also works closely with the portfolio management teams and quantitative research.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Quant Investment Specialists in providing an in depth understanding of our competitive advantage over to other providers to sales teams and prospective clients/investment consultants. 
  • Proactively engage and communicate investment opportunities to the various sales and consultant’s teams to generate opportunities.
  • Attend client meetings either solo or as accompanied visit as required as well as other internal meetings and educational sessions.
  • Provide inputs for marketing materials and RFPs including managing the process of co-ordinating presentations, RFP’s and collateral updates into Quant equity positioning.
  • Offer opinion in the development of the quant equity strategies (e.g. fund launches, re-organisation) and be a resource for fund launches. 
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the competitive positioning of HSBC Global Asset Management versus other providers in the quant equity space.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • A thorough understanding of the Asset Management / Investment space is essential
  • Possess relevant experience and knowledge of equity markets is essential with some prior experience in quantitative investing and factor-based strategies desirable.
  • Have a good commercial brain and able to assess and understand financial and other data.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship development skills with the ability to build credibility and confidence in order to be viewed as a ‘Trusted Advisor’.
  • Advanced communication skills – written and verbal, with the ability to deliver detailed, high-quality presentations and other content documents.

This role is based in HSBC offices at 8 Canada Square London with flexibility for some home working, you should be able to travel to London on a weekly basis. The role will require occasional travel for client meets and other business related activities
