UK CMB Lending is a product team within UK Commercial Banking (UK CMB) supporting frontline colleagues and other stakeholder groups in the distribution of products and associated customer journeys we design and maintain. We develop products to meet the needs of our customers - from Small & Medium Enterprises through to Large Corporates with the aim of helping them to grow their business.
The purpose of this role is to support the UK CMB end to end (E2E) Securities Lead in managing securities products, designing improvements to the securities journey for UK CMB customers and acting as an SME on implementation of those changes. Our aim is simple, it is to support the delivery of the broader UK CMB lending strategy, providing first class service to our customers and enabling business growth.
The role holder will work collaboratively with HBUK and CMB product teams, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Wholesale Credit Lending and Operational Resilience teams and Risk Stewards to ensure robustness of the security process and ensure risk and control effectiveness and mitigating actions are managed appropriately.
We are currently seeking an expert to join this team in the role of E2E Securities Manager.
In this role you will:
- Report to the E2E Securities Lead for UK CMB, acting as a project sponsor for programmes of work specifically related to improvements in the securities journey.
- Act as a Securities SME supporting frontline CMB segment teams and working closely with CMU (Collateral Management Utility) team to deliver simple, straightforward, digital security journeys for all CMB customers while ensuring we maintain the robustness and enforceability of the security/collateral held.
- Ensure our securities are evaluated against prevailing Legal and Regulatory standards and defined service level agreement performance metrics.
- Support on the updating of CMB security charge forms, literature and ancillary documents ensuring they are accurate, compliant and relevant.
- Manage risk action plans for core securities products and associated transformation projects.
- Through intelligent design, provide support and oversight to transformation programmes across commercial banking securities.
- Actively participate and engage in cross functional forums and risk meetings.
To be successful, you should meet the following requirements:
- Have an excellent understanding of UK CMB Securities and experience working in a relevant market/context, e.g. Commercial Banking, Collateral Management, Risk, Transformation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision making and decision makers at senior level.
- Evidence strong analytical and technical capability along with project management skills and an ability to think strategically and laterally.
- Inquisitive mindset and a tenacious approach to problem solving.
- Have the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, building and leveraging relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to contacts in Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Data Analytics and frontline business Segment teams.
- Demonstrate
soutstanding interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis on inspiring, influencing and negotiating. - Be risk aware, with knowledge of the banks risk management systems and reporting requirements advantageous.
- Have extensive experience of the bank’s core operating systems, including Browser Main Menu, CARM, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
This is a hybrid position, and we work from our base office locations at least 60% of the time. This role could be located at HSBC offices in Sheffield or Birmingham. The successful candidate will be required to travel between the two offices, or other UK locations for meetings and collaboration, as required.
