The Opportunity:

• The Strategic Equity Financing (SEF) team originates and structures bespoke strategic equity finance solutions for corporate clients, as well as Private Banking clients. The SEF product offering includes margin loans, derivative and Pre- or At-IPO financing, collars, convertible bonds, exchangeable bonds, and structured equity buybacks. Additional responsibilities may include contributing to HSBC’s people agenda and team activities, as required.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of client materials for origination and execution across all SEF and equity-linked products, across all industry sectors with a focus on EMEA.

• Liaise with Markets teams to help the team to deliver advice and pricing for derivative products to our clients

• Support the development of credit memorandums and committee papers.

• Assist in the day to day execution of transaction, liaising internally with other teams within HSBC

• Acquiring in-depth understanding of the capital markets, industry and business environment. This understanding enables the firm to design customized solutions for clients - whether it is strategic initiatives like capital financing or stake management strategies

Leadership & Teamwork 

• Support onshore team in deal, market or stake related analysis, origination and execution

• Support the deal team through coordinated coverage and global-local infrastructure

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

• Derivatives knowledge, corporate finance, accounting, capital market products (equity, debt, hybrids, convertibles etc.)

• MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint

• Financial databases and research platforms like Bloomberg, Factset, Dealogic etc.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• The role is part of CIB GSCs and based at Bangalore
