The Opportunity:

The Senior Consultant Specialist role is responsible for delivering across the technology delivery lifecycle, including inception, construction, testing, release, and ongoing management of a product or service within a Technology team pod.
They will be required to continually enhance their skills within a number of specialisms which include front-end & back-end development, security, testing, and operational support.
This role will lead the forefront of various cloud technologies (e.g., Google Cloud, AliCloud).
This role will collaborate with the Global IT leadership teams from different domains for business projects' cloud adoption.
This role will serve as the go-to expert for knowledge of cloud products, across GCP,  AliCloud and IKP.

What you’ll do:

• Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand.
• End to end accountability for a product or service, identifying and developing the most appropriate Technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey.
• Liaise with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service’s direction.
• Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data.
• Create technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality.
• Provide support to DevOps teams working at all stages of a product or service release/change with a strong customer focus and end to end journeys, ensuring they have an excellent domain knowledge.
• Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
• Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team.
• Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.
• Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable.

• Extensive IT software engineering experience in software development with Agile methodologies. Experience with frontend and testing is an advantage.
• Proficient knowledge in GCP and Ali Cloud is essential.
• Knowledge of “Talk is cheap. Show me the code” --- Linus Torvalds (2000) Hands-on engineering capabilities in state-of-the-art technologies is a must
• In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficient in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Solid grasp of software engineering principles, including scalable design patterns, security, and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent team player with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.
• Experience in leading a team, conducting code reviews, and test case reviews.
• Ability to rapidly build and set up PoC environments with Cloud, Container, etc.
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, such as Java, Python, Golang, or Node.js.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Dockers and Kubernetes operating experience.
• Linux maintenance and troubleshooting skill.
• Hands-on shell scripting.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
