We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Cost & Commercial Supplier Manager (Construction & Design).

 

Role Purpose

 

Manage and optimise third-party supplier costs for HSBC Real Estate Services (RES), ensuring alignment with contractual commitments and budgetary constraints while driving additional value. Oversight includes ~$250M in global operational (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx) per annum, and engagement with ~1000 FTE across suppliers and internal teams.

In this role you will:

 

  • Manage and optimise global supplier costs ensuring budget and contract compliance.
  • Design and implement global cost management frameworks and allocation methodologies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and escalate issues to senior stakeholders as needed.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or operational efficiency.
  • Analyse financial and commercial data to support decision-making, reporting, and executive governance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders on strategic supplier management.

 

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Financial Management - Budget planning, cost forecasting, OpEx/CapEx management, CCNs, variance analysis.
  • Construction & Design - RICS project gate-stages, supplier knowledge (Turner & Townsend, Mace, Newmark), Facilities Management, Workplace Services.
  • Systems & Tools - Advanced Excel, SAP/Oracle, Power BI, cost tracking dashboards.
  • Procurement & Contract Management - Supplier cost control, contract compliance, SLA/KPI management.
  • Strategic Analysis - Identify cost-saving opportunities, design global cost frameworks, risk mitigation.

This role is based in Birmingham or Sheffield and the successful candidates will be expected to work a Hybrid week.
