  • We produce a wide range of print and digital designs for the bank, which are used both externally and internally. Our designs help to promote HSBC's products and services to customers.
  • Our skilled specialists deliver sleek, professional and outstanding pitches that help our business partners draw investors to HBSC.

Website management services

  • We manage more than 250 websites for the Bank.
  • Our content management support for public and staff website creation and revamps plays a pivotal role in the realisation of HSBC businesses’ and functions’ goals.
  • We specialise in website analysis and optimisation, allowing businesses to understand customers better. We also advise on managing websites efficiently and effectively from project initiation to launch.

 

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Digital Designer, you will take a leadership role in the creative process, responsible for guiding the development of innovative design solutions that effectively resonate with our stakeholders. You will mentor digital designers, ensuring that the team produces high-quality work that aligns with the HSBC strategic objectives. Additionally, you will be required to create design solutions with high visual impact, providing a range of design, layout, and production services for output in print, web, interactive, documentation, and presentation materials. All design output must meet project requirements and adhere to branded-design guidelines. Your experience and insight will be critical in pushing the creative boundaries of our projects.

    

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

  • Develop and implement technical solutions under banking digitizations, automation and digital messaging area using industry standard code and development framework
  • Test and evaluate technical solutions to ensure that they are efficient and effective
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the front end applications and relevant work platforms such as SharePoint, AEM..etc.
  • Ensure high quality of work by consistently taking responsibility for one's own work, reviewing it against quality standards, and consistently seeking to achieve zero quality errors.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications and system diagrams.
  • Keep up-to-date with new developments in technology and make recommendations for improvements to existing systems.
  • Oversee the productivity rating for their individual shift and work closely with Creative Leads to identify any challenges and lapses that can be addressed.

Leadership & Teamwork. 

  • Ensure a steady improvement in his/her own design skills and capabilities by planning and organising collaborative work and in-house cross-training opportunities.
  • Assist the Technical Leads in developing the team's annual and quarterly training plans.
  • Contribute to the team in achieving monthly average performance targets for Productivity and Quality scores.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of I & A to find optimal solutions to meet technology requirements.
  • Ensure up to date knowledge on HSBC brand guidelines by actively participating in training sessions, and team knowledge sharing.
  • Puts the need of the greater team ahead of his/her own needs, ensuring the team's growth and improvement is of priority.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Post-secondary education – Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in an advertising / design agency environment / in-house creative team.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in Mac OS, Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications.
  • Solid knowledge of web design HTML5, CSS, and web design principles.
  • Solid knowledge of motion graphics or video editing software.
  • Solid knowledge of print production.
  • Knowledge of emerging digital experience technologies is an advantage.
  • Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Mostly client-focused, with positive attitude; able to negotiate effectively, communicate at all levels and able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong passion for design and willing to share knowledge and experience, and great design resources, articles and other inspiration with others.
