  • Group COO (GCOO) provides essential support for the bank through operations, operational resilience, and key central business services such as procurement and real estate services.

  • The Business Risk and Resilience (BRR) organization sits within GCOO and comprises of a set of outcome focused service pillars, including the GCOO Chief Control Office. The GCOO Chief Control Office are subject matter experts in Risk and Control, to help develop knowledge and understanding of governance.

  • The role will be reporting into the Head of Risk Framework and Governance for GCOO CCO to support on core governance activities related to the sub-function Risk and Control Management Meetings (RCMMs). The role holder will:

  • Oversee production of the Procurement and Business Risk and Resilience RCMMs.

  • Provide governance advisory across GCOO for ensuring risk and control topics are adequately covered in a complete, accurate and timely manner via the RCMMs.

  • Assess inputs into the GCOO RCMM, to ensure quality of updates and articulation of risks and control deficiencies.

  • Be a point of contact on the risk management framework, providing opinion and views from a risk and control perspective on topics within GCOO and across the bank
    What you’ll do:

Execution:

  • Support the continuing development, implementation, and improvement of governance processes

  • Support and refresh governance model(s) and processes on an ongoing basis in line with the Bank’s policy

  • Support the end-to-end delivery of Risk Management Framework Services to internal stakeholders in accordance with agreed service catalogue & SLAs which enhance CCO’s reputation across GCOO.

  • Collaborate across GCOO CCO identifying and delivering opportunities to continually transform, reduce complexity and duplication.

Risk Management and Controls:

  • The role holder will support the team in continually reassessing operational risks and likelihood of operational risk occurring (including but not limited to NFR). This will be achieved by reviewing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, or as identified by the GCOO CCO taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and impact of new processes.

Customers and Stakeholders

Internal Stakeholders:

  • Engage with stakeholders across GCOO, Global Businesses, Global Infrastructure to ensure alignment on key risk and control messages for GCOO.

  • Demonstrate knowledge on all aspects of Risk Management Framework and be actively sought by Global Businesses and Global Infrastructure.

Leadership & Teamwork 

Teamwork:

  • Fulfil responsibilities and meet core delivery targets as set by CCO Governance

  • Contribute to the drive increase value, reduce complexity, and provide an improved governance service
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Strong skills in writing Board-level updates.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high attention to detail.

  • Strong knowledge of the risk management framework.

  • A good level of knowledge with the use and functionality on Helios.

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.

  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to influence and manage stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

  • Self-driven and pro-active with a positive attitude.

  • Demonstrates flexibility when addressing shifting or competing priorities
