Main Purpose of the Job

Working as part of the MX IBMz Team to undertake all aspects of DB2 for z/OS activities.

Your responsibility as a Data Base Administrator and System programmer will be ensuring the performance, integrity, maintenance, and security across several global regions. You'll be involved in the planning and maintenance of the databases, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.

As a Data Base for z/OS specialist, you’ll need to:

  • Install and test new versions DB2/Function Levels.
  • Continuous delivery of maintenance for DB2 and associated tools.
  • Support and management of distributed DB2 connections.
  • Engineering solutions to exploit appropriate automation.
  • Stability and integrity of a highly responsive OLTP (CICS) DB2 environment.
  • Carry out capacity planning.
Requirements

Experience: 

  • DB2 production support
  • DB2 software maintenance
  • DB2 performance tuning
  • DB2 application support
  • Experience of working as a z/OS Systems Specialist with knowledge of the DB2 arena.
  • It's a good idea to have some experience in programming such REXX/Cobol.
  • Carry out capacity planning.
