Within the portfolio, there is a Trusted Source Strategic initiative which supports the following data services:

  • Accounts, Confirmation and SSI Data

  • and the associated integration and controls required to feed consuming systems across the Business.
  • The Data Governance & Reference Data Product brings together the overall Data Governance framework along with Reference & Static Data across data domains (as listed below) supporting various consumers with in SSv and HSBC Group supporting the wider strategic objective to develop a central Data Management capability.

The Opportunity:

  • An opportunity has arisen for a Sr Product Analyst to support the Change lead in the execution of strategy across data domains to drive consumer adoptions to trusted source, managing a book of work supporting multiple consumers across the Bank.
  • The role of the Sr Product Analyst is to shape and support the identify and manage Business User Stories through the Agile Project Lifecycle, to allow the Program to meeting short term project goals, as well as longer term its strategic goals in the Client Reference Data.
  • HSBC is taking a process focused design approach to transformation using Porter’s Value chain model to align with the associated Business outcomes that Bank is seeking to achieve.
  • Conduct “As Is” and Future State process mapping associated with the delivery of functionality into Global Operational departments.
  • Write, maintain, and reconcile User Stories to DataOPS Service Stakeholders and Consumers.
  • Operational checks on all processes above, collating and reporting feedback where required.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing including developing testing scripts, activities to support the global team.
  • Liaise with IT to capture functional and define Business Non-Functional User Stories.
  • Comfortable integrating/reconciliation of large Reference Data sets to ensure data quality is in line with data consumers expectations.
  • Form part of a team responsible for collating and reporting on high quality, informative Management Information for presentation at up to including Executive level.
  • Assist with future training of the role to new and existing team members where required, as well as contributing to the maintenance and updates to key procedure documentation
  • Provide Pod/ Team leadership on specific tasks relating to the above processes when required
  • Supporting the business in determining what they “want” and “need”.
  • Providing analysis capabilities to determine the “what” and “how”.
  • Core project and program capability, including IT relationships.
  • Contributing to the management of project and program artefacts (plans, RAID, etc).
  • The role operates across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes, in conjunction with the business/COO/ asset class leads, legal, compliance, and middle office, as well as the various technology teams.

What you’ll do:

Role and responsibilities: -

  • Delivering workstream of tasks across the program and associated governance.
  • Identify how to support the requirements using data sources both internal and external to HSBC recognizing any licensing restrictions that apply.
  • Working with IT Data Architects to design and create a strategic solution.
  • Run consumer forums to gather Voice of Consumer and capture them accurately in the backlog in terms of a request.
  • Represent Reference Data in the any of the RFPs for Securities Service and help Product Manager make the pitch.
  • Engagement with Operations, IT & Consumer stakeholders alike to ensure that all deliveries are met in a timely manner with the desired outcome.
  • Create and maintain product metrics and present them to Product Manager at regular intervals.
  • Bringing design thinking to the analysis and design processes to focus on business services consumers requirements, the outcomes the business want to achieve and transforming existing “as is” inefficiencies and risks within your workstream/POD.
  • Delivery of tasks within an agile release management strategy.
  • Documenting changes to Business Services, Processes and Systems and ensuring ongoing compliance with existing Regulatory Reporting and Control requirements.
  • Capturing and delivering Business value led User stories.
  • Manage Business change demands including and beyond Technology deliveries (e.g., Policies and Procedures, regulatory remediation, process improvement, governance) within your POD/Workstream.
  • Contribute to the prioritization of User Story Backlog.
  • Ensure work has appropriate level of analysis, sizing for solution design and timelines for delivery.
  • Identify and provide recommendations of any other areas requiring update/remediation (non-IT core and ref data fixes).
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within processes and systems.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Working with the change community to support the transformation of ways of working.
  • Demonstrate a commercial mind-set when proposing/deciding on User Stories and capturing business needs.
  • Builds and maintains networks with all stakeholders.
  • Highly skilled in use of MS Office tools, particularly MS-Excel, Word and PowerPoint, plus relevant project reporting and management tools (Clarity and MS-Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint)
  • Experience and knowledge of delivery in a DevOPS / agile practice model and reporting out to stakeholders in a clear and targeted manner for business / senior audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken) – comfortable with detail and talking at senior levels.
  • A can-do attitude; self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proven fast learner
  • Structured approach able to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
  • Takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution.
  • Strong team player, working in collaboration with stakeholders across HSBC.
  • Continuous improvement mind set and behaviour and works constructively to instil that in others.
  • Experience in a similar role in a fast paced Agile and Scrum delivery environment.
  • Ability to research information and analyse data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and courses of action.
  • Knowledge of business architecture & modelling (e.g., Data Dictionary, Logical Data Model, Process Mapping).
  • Proven success in Business Analysis roles on multiple projects covering all aspects outlined above.
  • An appreciation and respect for local cultures, and ability to both influence and work effectively with them
  • An understanding of the services offered by data service providers in the MSS OPS space (i.e., DTCC & other market vendor).
  • Ability to become a trusted business partner with senior management across BAU and Change teams whilst building strong relationships.
  • Collaboration and obtaining feedback from consumers to understand user needs and wants to drive solutions that deliver value.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • The successful candidate should be able to coach and mentor their PODs in the following areas while assisting in delivery of the strategic vision of the program ensuring all elements of the program are business value outcome led.
  • Strong background in Investment Banking Custody and Fund Services, with knowledge of Reference & Static Data, and its application within these businesses.
  • Security Services business knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Ability to deputize for the Program and Portfolio Managers in key stakeholder forums and supply the strategic vision and make key program level decisions.
  • Industry experience in a multifaceted project ideally in a Global Trading environment dealing with cross asset regulatory issues from Front office through middle and back office.
