We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join as Team Head who will have the responsibility to grow the Global Network Banking business in a highly competitive banking environment and ensure HSBC is positioned as the leading international bank for Corporates.

The job holder will report into the Head of Global Network Banking (GNB), UAE on a functional and entity basis.

The working location for this position is HSBC Tower, UAE.

In this role, you will:

·      Lead a team of GNB Bankers with a focus of driving sustainable revenue growth, new-to-bank acquisition and business development across Corridors and sectors by leveraging HSBC’s network.

·       Drive revenue growth and profitability through proactive business development, strategic engagement and close collaboration with risk, product partners and global relationship managers.

·      Motivate and lead the GNB team, providing both strategic and day-to-day direction and guidance across all aspects. Lead the team to acquire and grow appropriate relationships and satisfy transactional and funding needs of international clients.

·      Actively engaging in external events, activities and forums that provide opportunity to build HSBC’s brand among the target customer group.

·       Formulate and drive business and product strategies to acquire new-to-bank business, deepen wallet share and retain existing clients. Develop, implement and monitor the team management plan, communicating it effectively to all direct reports with clear expectations and objectives.

·       Assist clients in drawing on the HSBC group network by working closely with other CIB countries and product groups including GTS, GPS and MSS.

·       Ensure HSBC delivers customer experience and appropriate products and services which understand, meet and exceed customer needs as well as deliver fair outcomes.

·       Ensure healthy growth of client base through proactive client engagement and connectivity with the corporate network and achieve the Group’s strategy of growing revenues and returns through needs-based sales.

·      Ensure that the quality of the lending book meets group’s standards, safeguard the Bank from potential loss, maintain group credit standards, uphold portfolio quality, maintain high level of compliance, and minimize operational and credit banking risks

·      Be responsible for shaping and leading cross line of business collaboration, cross-selling of Group capabilities to ensure that Banking customers can avail themselves of all appropriate services

·       Understand current economic trends and their impact on HSBC in the Country; identify key levers to capitalize on opportunities and/or minimize downside exposure.

·       Contribute to the long-term strategic vision and international direction for CIB and identify the key steps necessary for Country alignment and support in achievement of the country, regional and global strategy.

·       Enhance the    Bank’s    image    in    the    marketplace and    build    key relationships with third parties such as investment development boards and Chambers of Commerce.

·       Set the tone and agenda on Global Standards and all elements of Risk and Compliance as applicable to the role.

·       Work closely with marketing to devise and implement strategies to enhance brand awareness and equity in the Country.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

·     Proven track record of banking experience dealing with international corporate clients, origination and business development. Banking Experience in/across other geographies is preferred.

·       Proven track record of managing large teams, including driving team strategy, creating team culture, people development, mentorship and leading by demonstrating high-performance culture.

·       Proven track record of business development, deal origination, new-to-bank acquisition from US Corridor.

·       Sector knowledge and expertise in TMT and Professional Services preferred.

·       Experience working in the US/ Asia or US/Asia clients is a plus.

·       Knowledge of UAE’s economy and banking regulatory framework.

·       Strong credit assessment skills, particularly with regards to more complex and structured facilities.

·       Proven strategic thinker with a track record in developing and implementing market leading strategies.

·       Ability to implement strategies, originate business and deliver effective client solutions across investment banking, financing, Markets and flow products.

·       Ability to interact and build trust and credibility with relationships at all levels of seniority including internal and external stakeholders, ‘C suite’, owner/proprietor client representatives, regulators and government bodies.

·       Graduation degree is a must to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.

·       Under the New Labour Law, only fixed term contracts shall be available to all employees of HSBC UAE (except DIFC and ADGM employees) – hence in line with the term of work permit, a 4 years’ contract would be issued.
