Department- Wholesale IT

In this role, you will:
•    Act as a SME on the design and implementation of technology solutions to meet the needs of the Wholesale Credit Lending technology function on a tactical and strategic basis covering number of significant Regulatory and business transformation initiatives in the bank. 
•    Introduce new practices, processes, techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via the appropriate governance bodies.
•    Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Corporate and Financial Institution Lending in creating a trust-based management culture with a high level of effective communication globally.
•    Accountable for ensuring compliance of the products and services with mandatory and regulatory requirements, control objectives in the risk and control framework (in line with published standards and guidelines) and with the architecture function, implementation of the business imperatives.
•    The role holder must work with the wider WCL and Wholesale IT communities of practice to maximize automation, increase efficiency and ensure that best practice, and the latest tools, techniques and processes have been adopted.
•    Provide consultancy advice, as a trusted partner, to both global and regional stakeholders within the business and other IT teams on how best to use the features and functions of the product in a consistent and efficient manner.
•    Develop the overall product strategy, providing the vision and roadmap for the product suite to help drive straight-through processing and reduce operational costs
•    Collaborate with technical leaders and product owners to contribute to product and project strategy, code standards, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering.
•    Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the mobile engineering community.
•    Helping with designing, maintaining and improving all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
•    Experience of handling projects involving heritage technologies and their transformation into the new tech stack 
•    Experience of making complex design decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, balancing advancing strategy, immediate business needs and potential long-term risks and implications 
•    Successful track record of managing large portfolio projects within the Banking domain involving OnPrem, Cloud and SaaS ecosystems. 
•    Understanding of the Wholesale Lending and Credit Risk domains will be an added advantage.  
•    Sound knowledge of Product Life Cycle Management concepts 
•    Excellent understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies and best practice techniques 
•    A thorough understanding of the purpose, culture and fundamentals of the Transformation 
•    Good understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives 
•    Excellent understanding and operational knowledge of Transformation toolset, specifically Clarity and GPDM 
•    Evidence of confidently operating at an Executive level 
•    Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors. 
•    Proven ability to facilitate effective portfolio management, with a strong understanding of risk and issue management, financial management, programme and portfolio planning, tracking and monitoring performance. 
•    Strong Understanding, analysing, interpreting and working with information (both financial or non-financial) and variance reporting.
•    Experience in influencing a complex and diverse stakeholder environment. 
•    A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long-term risks and implications. 
•    Proven project management skills, including planning, prioritisation, delegation and delivery of outstanding results.
•    Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness.
•    The individual should be self-motivated, customer focussed with an ability to solve complex problems with an eye for detail and accuracy.
•    Good knowledge on building and designing Rest API, API Gateway, API Standards, Micro-services, Web services and Integration styles.
•    Exposure to different integration paradigms (e.g., REST, Event Driven Architecture and messaging)
•    Knowledge and/or work experience in MS PowerPlatform and Oracle suite of banking products will be an added advantage.
•    Knowledge on Automation Testing, BDD frameworks and tools
•    Familiar with security practices for development
•    Hands-on IT development and design experience on Full stack Java development with Bootstrap and CSS
•    Knowledge of tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, JIRA, Confluence
•    Experience on CI/CD pipelines like ARCAD, RTC, Jenkins, etc.
