As Vice President – Leadership Hiring, you will own and lead the end-to-end hiring strategy and execution for senior technology leadership roles (typically Director and above). You will be a strategic advisor to business and HR leaders, driving the acquisition of transformative talent for HSBC’s India tech landscape. You will also shape our leadership hiring brand, diversity strategy, and succession pipelines in alignment with HSBC’s future-ready workforce model.

Principal responsibilities

·        Leadership Hiring Strategy:
Develop and implement a proactive leadership talent acquisition strategy aligned to HSBC’s tech growth priorities in India.

·        Stakeholder Management:
Partner with CTOs, global tech heads, HRBPs, and business sponsors to understand evolving leadership requirements across domains (Cloud, Data, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Architecture, etc.).

·        Market Mapping & Intelligence:
Conduct deep competitor intelligence, succession planning, and talent mapping for niche and hard-to-fill leadership roles.

·        Candidate Engagement:
Build and nurture strong relationships with executive-level tech professionals; act as a credible, high-touch representative of HSBC’s tech vision.

·        Diversity & Inclusion:
Embed inclusive hiring practices and proactively build diverse leadership pipelines.

·        Vendor & Search Firm Management:
Manage external search partners, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality-of-hire metrics are met.

·        Leadership Assessments & Offer Strategy:
Drive candidate evaluation through structured assessment tools and leadership frameworks; own offer and negotiation strategies with sensitivity to internal parity and market trends.

·        Employer Branding for Leadership Talent:
Work closely with the marketing and employer brand teams to strengthen HSBC’s tech leadership hiring presence in India

Requirements
  • 12–18 years of experience in senior or executive hiring, preferably in large-scale tech or global capability centers (GCCs).
  • Proven success in hiring technology leaders across domains like engineering, architecture, platforms, and product.
  • Strong understanding of India’s technology talent landscape, especially within BFSI, fintech, and global captives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in talent intelligence, market mapping, and search-based hiring.
  • Exceptional stakeholder and candidate management capabilities at senior levels.
  • Exposure to global hiring practices, diversity strategies, and leadership assessment models.
  • Prior experience in an in-house TA leadership role is strongly preferred; top-tier executive search experience is also valuable.
  • Graduate / Postgraduate degree in HR or relevant field
  • Experience with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, for talent sourcing
  • Expertise in niche skill and specialized hiring such as Data Engineering, Cyber security, Full Stack Engineering, Cloud Experts, AI/ML, Mainframe, Infrastructure and Domain Experts in Banking
  • Ability to conduct interviews with hands on experience on structured & competency-based selection processes
  • Excellent communication, people & decision-making skills
  • Must have managed senior stakeholders in current / previous roles
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and proactive approach to problem solving
