Global COO Transformation Strategic Change Specialist assist the Programme Manager/Project Manager/Strategic Change (Senior) Manager to organize and lead projects from project definition to closure. They will typically support the delivery of single small change projects and can be responsible for leading a workstream. They are responsible for following the Change Framework and Agile methodologies, using standard project management tools such as Clarity. Management activities such as early change planning and audience analysis; through to designing and delivering change interventions (e.g. communications, training, support, organization alignment); and tracking and taking actions on change readiness, adoption, and feedback.
They may be responsible for supporting Requirements Management, Design, Change Management and Implementation Management activities. Strategic Change Specialist work collaboratively with (Senior) Business Analysts, Process and Business Consultants, delivery partners and subject matter experts in gathering, translating and clarifying requirements and defining design options.
What you’ll do
- Assists with the production of a well-defined project plan, identifying the key milestones and support the project manager in the assigning of role/task responsibilities, business cases preparation
- Assists with project mobilization including activities such as onboarding resources and setting up the Clarity plan
- Work with under supervision to provide project governance and compliance, identifying and raising risk, issues when necessary, controlling project tollgates, managing project budgets and helping maintain change control
- Helps ensure that the project team follows all quality assurance processes, Change Frameworks and use standard tools such as Clarity
- Tracks, reviews and controls project progress and performance at clearly defined points in the process to help ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, anticipating potential risks and issues, putting mitigating actions into place to prevent delivery stalling and escalating as appropriate
- Demonstrates understanding of analytical tools and techniques to prepare and analyze management reports; the re-engineering toolkit and uses these to conduct basic analysis - gathering current state data (operations, financial etc) and identifying improvement opportunities identifying factors that are putting the programme off track, monitor and share progress with stakeholders
- Supports closure activities, including post project review and handover
- Strategic Change Specialist produces deliverables that are of a high quality (well structured, insightful, no errors) and with sufficient review time and appropriate response to feedback
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Awareness of Global Change Frameworks, Agile methodologies and best practice techniques
- Awareness of the purpose, values, culture and fundamentals of GCOO Transformation
- An understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives
- Some knowledge of process improvement or requirements gathering techniques
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise
- Experience gathering requirements, process re-engineering or conducting design activity
- Experience of communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders and Exposure to change implementation activity
