The Opportunity:

  • The Risk & Compliance Chief Administration Office (CAO) area is responsible for financial and headcount management and oversight, MI and internal governance and third-party management for the organisation’s ‘Risk & Compliance’ function.  This role will form part of Risk & Compliance Chief Administration Office (CAO) area, supporting financial management responsibilities including cost reporting, review of headcount, budgeting and forecasting process, governance packs for senior management reviews, accruals, and other administrative aspects for the specific Risk & Compliance region.
  • R & C Chief of Staff sets policy and standards, provides subject matter expertise and guidance, drives execution at the global and country level via regions, and maintains Line of Business subject matter expertise in support of the Global Businesses. Globally, Risk & Compliance has a headcount of circa 14,000 staff. This scale requires a greater level of oversight, administration, and management, therefore necessitating the development of the Chief of Staff function within Risk & Compliance Chief Operating Office.
  • This role will support the Global / Region / Sub-Function CoS & COE lead to deliver the Business Management services, also interact and co-ordinate with several global, regional, sub-functional and lines of business stakeholders and their respective teams.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

  • Responsible to ensure all financial and headcount forecasts are understood and appropriate in relation to the target.
  • Independently lead monthly review of financials and headcount and challenge where appropriate, working with relevant departments/ regions to obtain further understanding of costs and annual budgets.
  • Responsible to conduct run-rate analysis, forecasting and annual plans, to determine variances and provide insights where appropriate.
  • Oversee Risk & Compliance Third party requirements through appropriate governance and provide guidance and support as appropriate.
  • Independently handle end to end management of third-party engagements, including reviewing Statement of Works, follow through the approval process and provide required documentation as necessary.
  • Active engagement with Procurement to enable/ facilitate the function’s need to source services.
  • Oversee approval process for third party engagements including engagement with relevant stakeholders, obtaining understanding of business justification, addressing queries and communicating outcomes.
  • Monitor to ensure services are not received prior to complying with prescribed procedures or prior to signing contract with third party.
  • Ensuring appropriate management information and reporting related to third party spends.
  • Track, monitor contract expiry dates and ensuring approvals are sought well in time.
  • Review and monitor indirect costs such as Group recharges, charges from Global Service Centres and other intercompany charges and collaborate with Group counterpart on GHQ invoicing for forecasting and planning.
  • Oversee and monitor all activities headcount management and hiring approvals.
  • Ensure good governance and controls on Organization Authority Design processes, Records Management, Business Continuity Planning, etc.
  • Responsible for publishing Monthly MI on Span of Control, Layers, Recruitment, Change the Bank trackers, Run the Bank Headcount Models, etc. and follow-up to conclude as appropriate.
  • Regular interaction within CAOs teams
  • Deputise for the Onshore CAOs and manage day to day deliverable for junior support in the GSC. 
  • Managing Servo relationship by handling governance required for smooth Interco across sites by having controls on IGSA updates, preparing, and updating Methodology papers and relevant SMS requirements.
  • Innovation and improvement of methodologies, through adoption of best practice and continued professional development and ensuring these meets required standards and regulations.
  • Responsible to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between Risk & Compliance CoS team and other stakeholders across the Function and Group, both internal and external.
  • Responsible to understand business requirements, interpret TM1 data to provide meaningful analysis and insights to facilitate management with quick decisions.

Leadership and Teamwork

  • Collaborate with other Group and Risk & Compliance Verticals to ensure commonality and consistency of solutions.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • Excellent business management experience in a large and complex organization.
  • Strong Financial background and experience essential, with a deep understanding of different aspects of costs and headcount within a global organization and evidence of delivery in a similar global role.
  • Strong relationship management with senior stakeholder and the ability to work with individuals at different levels.
  • Experience of third-party management.
  • A graduate degree in Commerce, Finance & Accounting, Business management or equivalent with a minimum of 3 to 4 years in a similar domain.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of Business Support and Governance activities under COO remit.
  • Support implementation of policies and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient approach to business and financial management across Risk & Compliance teams.
  • Co-ordinate and implement Global CoS requirements across teams to comply with all global processes and deadlines.
  • Develop, maintain and improve report data sources and template.
  • Generates MI reports on a predetermined frequency, i.e., daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
  • Provides financial, reporting, project and/or operational support of a complex nature for Risk & Compliance.
  • Strong Procurement and Finance experience within a global organization, with expertise in Third Party Process Management / Contract Lifecycle Management and evidence of delivery in a similar role.
  • Anaplan Management and Forecasting/Reporting
  • Perform annual planning exercise in line with the Group FRP and workforce demand planning processes
  • Plan and manage periodic forecasting including coordination across the Sub-Functions and Regions.
  • Maintain forecasts through regular updates from golden source data.
  • Review of month-end actuals GHA report and update Anaplan.
  • Attrition model updates.
  • Efficiency tracker data load onto Anaplan.

  • Be able to operate in a matrix structure, with increased regulator focus and in a changing environment.
  • 'Can Do' attitude, with the ability to deal with ad hoc requests/tasks.
  • Self-reliant with the ability to prioritize and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills in English, and advanced Microsoft Office, Visualization skills and creation of infographics.
  • Ability to quickly understand stakeholder requirements and concerns and deliver a quality result, on time and with high attention to detail.
