Your career opportunity
The job holder will manage the bank databases on both on premise MS SQL Servers and Azure cloud. We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage our on-premise database servers and take a leadership role in our upcoming database migration to the Azure cloud platform. Our databases primarily support back-office applications in Israel, along with critical regulatory applications that require high availability, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in database administration, performance tuning, security, and cloud migration strategies, ensuring a seamless transition to Azure while maintaining operational excellence in our existing environment.
What you’ll do
• Work with key Software Delivery and Enterprise Services stakeholders around the business / local & global teams.• Manage databases on MS SQL on premise and MS Azure public cloud (Azure SQL).• Maintenance and management of MS SQL cluster environments.• Making sure that data is clearly defined & data remains consistent across the database.• Be responsible for the data modelling, data masking, database maintenance, backup and restore.• Monitor and optimize performance of MS SQL and on Azure SQL.• Manage the SQL job scheduling.• Be responsible for code review. Writing database & client documentation, including procedures and definitions for customer environment specifics.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with MS SQL and Azure SQL (Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).• Proven ability to provision, configure, and manage MS SQL and Azure SQL (managed instances and databases).• Proven ability to implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for MS SQL and Azure SQL.• Working experience with data lakes, warehousing and Azure Synapse Knowledge.• Knowledge of monitoring and optimizing database performance using Azure monitoring tools.• Proven experience of writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)• Experience with automation of routine database administration tasks using Azure Automation and/or PowerShell.• Good understanding of MS SQL objects, data types and all functionalities.
