We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Sustainability Proposition - CMB ASP.

Principal Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Sustainability Propositions, ASP CMB will sit in the Regional CMB Sustainability team reporting to the Director, Sustainability Proposition, ASP CMB.

This is a senior sustainability proposition role and the purpose of this role is to work on the development of critical sustainability proposition and capabilities across CMB to support the execution of CMB’s sustainability ambitions.  The role holder will play an instrumental role in ensuring HSBC is a leading financial institution in serving its customer’s sustainable finance and broader corporate sustainability agendas.

  • Strategy: Work with the Director, Sustainability Proposition to help develop CMB sustainability proposition strategy and KPIs: assist in activities including outing the vision for end state propositions, outlining key areas of priority within the customer journey, identifying the customer and business objectives, building the business case and roadmap, designing, testing and building the solutions(s), ensuring on-going development and lifecycle management
  • Proposition Development - Working with select markets and product areas to work on launching pilots and successful commercialisation of these propositions including gathering business appetite, customer recruitment, development of frontline and customer assets as well as monitoring of performance
  • Partnership origination and ongoing management, from identifying, selecting, testing, commercialising and monitoring 3rd party partnerships globally; leading the initial relationship with select partners, negotiating terms, measures of success, coordinating partnership execution and ongoing monitoring of performance    
  • Cultural Change – Help embed sustainability as part of our DNA, creating an environment for knowledge and best practice sharing across regions and products, and foster a community of internal activists to affect change and support growth
  • Training development: Work on executing the training programmes for the frontline to educate and empower them with sustainable finance knowledge. Work with relevant regional and product teams to help build the content and act as a key SME for the Learning function
  • Stakeholder engagement/ communications; develop materials to clearly and effectively communicate CMB Sustainability strategy, capability development initiatives, whilst acting as key interface with other areas of the Group on their sustainability activities, driving collaboration where possible and represent CMB Sustainability
  • Performance Management support, to ensure effective delivery of transformation initiatives, as well overseeing business development and delivery against key metrics and financial targetsa


  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar capacity
  • A sound knowledge of the Corporate Banking business, including credit & lending, trade & payment products, services, systems and processes
  • Experience in front office will be advantaged
  • Demonstration of knowledge in the field of Sustainability or Sustainable Finance including strong knowledge of the Group and CMB’s sustainability strategy, priorities and initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Track record of flexibility and adaptability in fluid environments of constantly changing priorities

To be considered for this role, the relevant rights to work in Singapore is required.

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
