Our GCIO organisation plays a critical role for the bank. This team partners with our businesses to build the platforms, systems, and products that our customers use every day. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Specialist Engineer.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Be hands on development experience and deliver code to production
- Work closely with our governance team to understand the business core and associated operational data meaning
- Create strategy on how ‘Data’ can facilitate the governance, including reporting, issue tracking, remediation, etc.
- Implement the changes needed to onboard data driven design by extracting data from products, creating data pipelines & using open-source data visualization tool like Grafana or GCP Looker studio
- Collaborate with data infrastructure teams to refine data requirement, improve data completeness, accuracy and quality
- Deliver Estate Management Portal platform which is integrated will necessary systems and showcase all middleware products remediation status
Requirements
To be successful you will need
- Hands on passionate technologist who is delivering code to production
- Ideally does one or more for the following – blogs about technology, has a Github portfolio and/or contributes to open source
- Expert knowledge on at least one of the languages: Python, JAVA & Node js (React). And have experience to various databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Experience of creating Data pipeline, Data visualization, analytics, and monitoring tool (e.g. Grafana, GCP looker studio, QlikSense)
- A problem solver that can translate business opportunities into technical solutions
- Maintains a strong knowledge of IT development methodology, architecture design, engineering solutions, and technical standards
- Mentor and share knowledge with others on the team, and outside teams where required
- Always consider automation for a solution from the start. Help to reduce the toil and time-consuming portions of the technology to help developers become more agile and deliver solutions quickly and securely
